I will spare you the sea of near identical bubble shaped small hatchbacks and this year's theme which is very much forthcoming electrically powered city cars , which still will not get to the showrooms for another 18 months. For those of you who could not get there , at the Excel Exhibition centre in East London Docklands, £10 entry ,show ends 6.00 pm Sunday 3rd August :-

Instead, some of the older or more unusual exhibits

Interesting show, worth the visit, but had the feel more of a shopping mall rather than the occasion that was the special feel of excitement of the motor shows of the past at Earls Court.

Major new model debuts for new Ford Fiesta, Vauxhall Insignia,Focus RS,Land Rover LRS,Alfa Mito,Ford Kuga,Lotus Evora,Morgan Aeromax & Hydrogen concept sportscar,Alfa Romeo 8c coupe & spider, Honda's hydrogen fuel cell FCX Clarity, Toyota IQ , the Lightening electric sportscar and many more, you need about 3hrs to look around.

Surprisingly perhaps there was a really big crowd there, parking is now greatly improved with underground indoor car parks beneath the venue, the docklands light railway runs through the site , which is positioned alongside the river thames and next to Docklands Airport. Access now is fast and very easy.

Best bit ? Well we spotted someone we knew working on sales on the Bentley stand and got invited in to the sumptuous back office for afternoon tea , in bone china cups, exquisite cakes on Bentley's finest leather bound seats........I can now imagine how nice it would be to be a current Bentley owner and be treated so nicely....something from a completely different era !

But with even the entry level Bentley Continental GT , devine though it is , costing £137,000

......It'll be back to the Focus then !
