hi once again fellow petrolheads.

i'm just wondering, out of total curiousity if anyone knows of my family? Not that i'm a waife n stray at all, just curious as we've always has someone behind a wheel in each generation.

My late Dad, Keith Pashley, from lincoln used to rally a mini cooper, and i think, but not sure, he did some kind of work on an ex Ivor Bueb jag. I have a signed photo by beub of that car, maybe won le mans '55?

My late uncle, Dad's brother Geoff used to have a trials bike, and also ran a garage in cheltenham, its now an AA garage I think?

Then my cousins, Keith and Geoff of cheltenham have raced in monoposto chamionships, and both won  .

So does anyone know an of my family? I know we're not as big and other racing families, but just thought out of idle curiousity if anyone know them.

Give me a shout if you do.

There's a Pashley who's a long-time member of TNF
I'll leave it to him to get in touch :)

Hello, hello, hello!

Yes, I'm still here... thank you for your email minigeff, which I have just caught up with - rest assured I've not been ignoring you (or TNF in general)! I've been terribly distracted of late by all the usual things, work, money, health and family issues and other worries, plus being embroiled in a ground-up rebuild of my car...

I had been aware of a Pashley family involved in rallying but heard anything in recent years, so is that you, or...

I had a vague memory of a Pashley in the monoposto formula, but couldn't recall any details for the moment.

The Pashley cycle firm - I'm not aware of any direct link between me and them; I think they hail from Yorkshire, don't they?
I was always told that the name originated in that county and that my family probably did too - in the past haven't needed to spell if for anyone if I visited there!

There is also my namesake Tony Pashley- hillclimber, constructor of the 'Marengo' single seaters (bike-engined hillclimbers) and sometime contributor to mags such as 'Race Tech'. He is not I, although I have in the past received messages and queries for him and the caller is often bemused that despite the slightly unusual name I know who and what they are on about and actually have some experience of driving bike-engined cars but am not the same person! Usually they have traced me through sources such as a car club I am involved in.

I grew up Leicester although I believe my paternal Grandfather was born elsewhere.

Sorry I have to keep this brief for now; I'm up against print deadlines and suchlike at the moment, but will get back to this in due course.

Best regards.

(Edited, principally because I hadn't read the original post carefully enough!)

When I lived in Cheltenham in the sixties, I knew a Steve Pashley who was involved in construction and tipping lorries.

Also just round the corner in London Road was where Ivor Bueb's garage used to be, now a tyre depot.

I think my great gandma was from mexbrough. my grandfather obviously had connections to that side of the country.

Steve Pashley is my cousin, or one of many of them! Sadly steve died at the age of 46 a good few years back. He was involved in monposto racing, probably where my other cousins got the bug from.
