One thing that I love about MS and find others loathing it, is that if there is an advantage to be had (however minute), MS will find it and exploit it. This is a sign of a champion in my books.
Bingo!
Rule books are there to set fences. Given the very flexibles rules in F1, it's no wonder that some work these fences to their advantage, to give them some more room. When someone gets upset about it, they in fact should slap their hand on their forehead and say to themselves, why haven't I thought of that before. Be that a competitor, or the rule creating body.
In a sense it's the same line of thinking with the development race during a season. Each team tries to find some advantage from the car, before others do it. Even if it's an advantage for just one race, it's worth to them. And the best win, because they optimize the entire package. Call that cheating whoever wants to, for me it's called competition. Only the naive think the real race happens behind the wheel only. It never has been this way since the first guys started racing each other in cars.
Maybe someone comes out and wants to tell us, Schumi's fitness program was cheating too. After all he was the one who started that fitness trend amongst F1 driver. Funny enough, fitness program are there to optimize an athletes performance. And yes any fitness program involves weight control. I'm sure there are some on this BB wanting to suggest to the FiA, drivers need to stop their fitness programes, because it's cheating. Please do it, the rest of us want to have a good laugh.
