Hi folks,
I,m new here in this forum, and after some days of just reading all these interesting threads, I thought it is time to ask something.
I am building 1/24 model cars for slotracing, and together with a friend we create new bodies. So now we made a mastermodel of the Mini Jem from 500 km Nurburgring 1963-1967.
Can anybody help me finding the right colours for the cars? I just found one coloured pic of a blue car from 1967. Are there any other possibilities?
Thank You for your help.

hello,
there was only one mini jem entry at nurburgring at all, it was at 500 km race in 1969, car was pale blue, something like ford colour "electric blue" or very near to this .

Thank You for that information, I think I saw your pic in the web already. It was car No. 35, wasn´t it?
But there were some more: 500 km Nurburgring 1966, #21 Jeremy Delmar Morgan (GB), 18th overall, 2nd in class; #22 Mike Walton (GB) DNF; #23 Ron Parkes (GB) DNF. There is a pic of no. 21 at the Minijem-site, it was a car with a bright stripe over the front.

sorry, of course you are right. unfortunately i do not remember the colours although i saw at that race.
you should ask jeremy himself, perhaps he remembers, as i saw some stories from him in the web, i always liked to hear, as he competed a lot of different cars , mostly very exotic ones, at the eifel mountains.

This may not be overly helpful, but the Mini Jem competing at the Revival last year was painted British racing green and yellow. I don't know whether that was its original livery. You can see it here:

That could help a bit. The shield over the car sais "Mini Jem GT 1966" so it could be one of the three cars I´m looking for.
Thanks for that.

After some weeks of laminating, colouring and decaling this is the first result of a Mini Jem I built:

I don´t know whether the yellow stripe at the front is right, but I hope that someone could help me with that. The next one I would like to build is the #21-car.
Best wishes
Jörg

oh yes, very fine work indeed.
the wing extensions seem a little bit too wide, esp. at the rear, and on right side was a little air-inlet behind the rear side window.
for the yellow stripe i will have a look in my old movie files, i remember there is one sequence in it showing this car from the front at the bend before karussell section.

Wing extensions? Wheel arches. :) A very nice model.

The Mini Jem first appeared in 1966 and did a number of races in '66/7. Unfortunately the only photos that have come to my attention and are on minijem.plus.com have been black and white. The Nürburgring 500 cars were distinguished by different coloured squares on the right-hand side of the nose, so I suspect the bodies were all the same. Light blue is a distinct possibility as they definitely weren't white. The green and yellow colours of Ivor Miller's car at the Revival Meeting weren't authentic Mini Jem colours.

Hi all,

I'd be very interested in a 1/24th scale Mini Marcos or Mini Jem, should anyone have one for sale. Please PM me.

Cheers,
Duane

I only vaguely remember all the politics of it but was not the original car a Mini Marcos-later homologated by Marcos as a Mini Marcos 1300 GT and the mini jem was a separate-but very similar entity -produced by a different arm of the organisation -or somesuch after some split over money or rights ?. I feel pretty sure that no Mini jem appared as early as 1966. Or does my memory serve me ill?
Note for BP thread I do know that a sentence cannot begin ''Or'' but hey...
