Kimi out of WDC

With Lewis on 84 and Kimi on 63 , despite Lewis not earning 1 point today, Kimi is now mathematically out of the WDC with only 20 points remaining.

IMO , Kimi's 2008 season is one of the worst for a world champion to defend his title. He has not looked / raced his part for a few months now. I suspect Kimi is going to be a 1 time wonder and if Alonso / Hamilton / even Kubica have decent cars in the next seasons , he will not win another WDC.

What if the new rule cars will suit him the most and all of a sudden we see the old "McLaren Kimi"?

Right, Kimi should have kept on Kubica's tail to try and overtake.

IF Kimi overtook Kubica, he would have still been in title race. Simple as.

I agree, but many fans don't think like this, but if they did, they can see Kimi's career more then qualifies for patience, like a football striker who's been missing the net this season, they come good again, if he has 2 bad years in a row, then we'll come back to evaluate the fall of the ice man, but one year?


We are rewarded in life not by success, but the amount of times we fail, and continue to persist despite not always being rewarded for effort. If Kimi gave up hope last year, he probabley wouldn't of won in Brazul and got the title, sooner or later, efforts are rewarded, not always, but at least you know you tried. Kimi is trying, I have faith in him, infact this year has made me wanna see him do more well again soon, because he's very fast and exciting to watch, at times can do Schumacher like speed in the race, he's a talent, and he'll be missed when he leaves.

Agree and disagree

If you are a WDC and 2 time runner up - where has the fire gone? Maybe he is just tired like Mika was in 2000.

AT the same time he doesn't publically appear any different now than he did in the past so I am not sure I can even buy my own "tired" arguement.

His title last year was a gift - he didn't "earn" it - so maybe we are expecting too much for a repeat.

People at McLaren is saying he is just too hard on cars - amazingly fast when he is in the mood - but the moods don`t seem to be consistent enough.

Who of the Mclaren guys said this? Show me some evidence please.
And I think we all know why he isn´t that good this year!!

I am fed up with people saying the title was gifted to him last year. He had more DNF due mechanical failures than Ham and Alonso and he was still at the fight at the end of the year.
It doesn´t matter when those mistakes happen. Ham did them at the two last races. Kimi did them at the beginning of the year.
