To get started
Peter Leversedge up to 1965 No 33 then took over Bill Harris's No 77
The late Noel Goodwin also used No 77 and although we were not allowed two cars with the same numbers in a race we never had to change our numbers when we raced together.

Red Dawson 35, Paul Fahey 104, Rod Coppins 141, Johnny Riley 27 then 222, Jim Richards 102, Kenny Smith 41, David Oxton 18, Graham McRae 36, Robbie Francevic 50, Graeme Lawrence 14, Graham Harvey 48,Brent Hawes 111....;)

Smith was 11 for a long time
For many years numbers were allocated by the circuits. I think it must have been in the late 1960s that the NZRDC started liaising with race organisers on the competitors' behalf, and getting their agreement to allocate preferred numbers for the whole season.
The first drivers I remember sticking with the same number, back in the '50s, had been George Smith (44) and Ron Roycroft (88, then 19). Later you had Ross Jensen 18 and of course Bruce McLaren 47, though even into the '60s some circuits gave them other numbers.
I keep meaning to set up a database with each year's permanent numbers, but it always seems too much like hard work :)

Bang on as always, David, I may be confusing the Coke Lotus 41B (ex- Chas Lucas?) that Kenny drove for a while, and yes, I recall Jim Palmer driving 41. Peter Moloney 7, Graham Watson 103, Barry Phillips 86, Rodger Anderson 96, and in fact I think Jimmy Richards drove 105 in the Anglia and Imp days, then assumed 102 while driving the Jim Carney Escort.

Ivy Stephenson was No.38 for years. Maybe she changed to 44 later but I don't remember it
Roly Levis seemed to change from year to year - I remember 9 and 12
Bill Stone was 24, before, during and after his time as a member of the Roly Levis Racing Team

Man, you're lethal ! Agreed re Ivy..... was Ron Rutherford 44 ? Only saw him once, in a lovely turquoise Lotus 23B, drool drool....;)
