Ecurie Evergreen

Looking for this team did not reveal much else than de Cadenet as boss and they did sportscarracing in 70 and 3 F1 races (Craft)before folding.(de Cadenet continued under his own name).

Who started the team , when , and why stop when you continue (if de Cadenet was the owner from the start)?

Keith Greene was the team principal I thought, not de Cadenet.

I wasn't actually aware that de Cadenet was involved, but maybe I'm just thinking of the early Chris Craft days with the team.

I think it was managed by Kieth , but funded by Alain , ecurie/team sounds better when looking for start money.

Keith Greene was indeed team manager and Alain de Cadenet , but when did the team start and was it started by Alain de Cadenet ?

Didn't they run a McLaren M8C with a Cosworth DFV and later a McLaren M8E?

Much of the financial backing for AdeC's Ecurie Evergreen was provided, I believe, by David Weir - son of Pittsburgh steel magnate Ernest T. Weir, and whose step-mother Mary Hayward Weir later married author and playwright Jerzy Kosinski ('Being There' - Peter Sellers' ultimate movie). David was a very nice bloke, but one of that generation of very nice wealthy blokes who probably can't remember the '60s and '70s because they were having such a good time...

When Evergreen raced in Argentina Alain sold the McLaren there, I believe, and realising that the start and prize money paid in local currency was worthless elsewhere he bought "a ladder" - an Alfa Romeo Tipo B Monoposto chassis frame plus related mechanical "spares" - and filled the team's Radford containers with mint and boxed Dinky Toys and similar models of which he found a rich supply locally, for profitable resale back home. He also drove a Lola T210(ish) under the Evergreen banner.

Chris Craft, who shared the M8C drive at the 1971 BA 1000kms with Trevor Taylor, told me in 2007 that the DFV engine had been loaned by Ford.

Occasionally the entries in period are listed as Snake Speed Racing/Team Snake Speed (GT40, Osterreich Ring 1970) rather than Ecurie Evergreen, a style used by David Weir.

On the Personal photos from the paddock thread , post 3681 is a picture with thier green Mclaren on a trailer.
