...as in the width of a car's suspension from one wheel to the other, which dimension are we giving? In other words, is it to the centre of the wheel, the inner rim, or the outer rim? I ask because I've just taken delvery of a 1:43rd replica of the 1952 Ferrari 500 F2 car from the "La Storia" collection, and the track that I'm measuring and multiplying by 43 gives a much larger number than the track published in the booklet which accompanies the model.

Should always be centre to centre, although there may be some form of artistic license involved with some manufacturers...

Booklet quotes 1278 front/1250 rear track.
Model (wheel centres) measures 34.5 mm both front and rear.
Multiply by scale factor of 43 = 1483.5 both front and rear.
I've been pretty pleased with the models I've bought so far in this collection, but this one is much less accurate than the others I have so far.
