The FOTA World Championship

Bernie and co created this 'cruise and collect' issue they're trying to fix when they increased the value of 2nd and 3rd compared to 1st. The FOTA proposal would have restored some increased value to 1st over 2nd and 3rd and may have incentivised drivers to push for a win. We won't know this year if that's true or not.

So, in previous years we've had an AQUA (Atlas Quite Unlikely Alternative) thread. No need for one this year, as the WDC will be determined by something very similar.

I thought that instead we should track the points for WDC and WCC using the FOTA proposal, and see if there are any major differences come the end of the year. Might be fun .

In addition to the various petitions and facebook groups etc. maybe everyone could copy and paste my statement below into their reply.

I refuse to acknowledge the FIA WDC and will instead regard the FOTA World Champion as the rightful F1 Champion 2009.

Key changes - Button extends his points lead, and Vettel jumps past Barrichello.

The main surprises with this system would have been the sixth place for Glock, as well as a whopping 18:th place for Kubica. Also a surprise how much more consistent Bourdais was in the races compared to Buemi.
