I thought Massa had a good race Sunday until his retirement. I presume Raikkonen was driver error like Kazuki?

Kimi`s rear tyres were ruined. Pretty decent race by Felipe.

Are you ******* me? He was a full pitstop behind the crappy McLaren and was lapping slower than Kimi despite being on a faster strategy.

All in all it has me worried about his ability and focus this season.

I don't think it is like Kazuki. Raikkonen's car spun before hitting the kerb and the car was already aligned.

People jump ship in regards to these two quite often. I think Ferrari have a solid base with Kimi and Felipe and will do well to keep them.

Neither has any huge weaknesses IMO and those begging for Alonso belong elsewhere.

Kimi seemed out of sorts in the first phase but was lapping nicely before his incident, as for Massa, he was keeping up but was on a different strategy.

Malaysia will see these two fight back and hopefully, both on the podium.

I dont think Felippe would have done any better, he had his hands full with fighting Piquet in the race...

Ferrari was not in ideal shape in last weekend, and both drivers suffered from that, Kimi abit more because he was cut short in saturday FP. Hope Ferrari is back in form in Sepang...

I think there will always be people trying to push for different drivers "if only X was our driver he would do this and that". Whether they would indeed do better or would have done better at the moment is questionable at best. Podium for a Ferrari at the moment seems hard to achieve but we'll see.

To me right now the weak link is the car, it is okay but not what is expected of Ferrari. We have seen that both drivers can get the job done when given the right equipment and the truth is there is not much between them. Ferrari is once again behind the 8 ball with regard to reliability and as for car development maybe driver feedback is missing. They all say the right things but the proof is in the pudding.

Felipe had an ok race but was on a 3 stop and the saftey car ruined that. Kimi was doing ok but driver error cost him places and in the end retired anyway.

Massa and driver error are synonymous terms.

And he still got within one point to win the championship last year. Think if he manages just a little better, he'll blow everybody away. Not to mention that Alonso also had his fair share of driver errors last year.

He had a great car and a shitload of luck.
He's another DC, and will be the butt of heaps of jokes as he fails and fails again.

Kimi has been looking very average after the traction control ban. I know he pulls an occasional fast lap but usually when the car is light and and his chances for a podium slim.

Let's see. DNF in Hungary from the lead with 4 laps to go - 10 points lost.
Refueling problem in Canada and Singapore costing him at total of at least 8 points.

What he had was a shitload of bad luck just like in 2007. You are talking ****.
With the same great car Kimi was only able to....... (There is no need to get into details)

Is Kimi wearing his own overalls again? It looks kinda "shiny" in FP2.

If my memory serves me correct, the reason for Massa's upright failing in Melbourne was announced as resulting from his earlier crash with Kubica wasn't it? So a driver error.

Edit: Ah, here it is. AFCA posted in the F60 thread:
Ferrari examined a number of things in the factory:
The broken upright of Massa's car was caused by the small collision the Ferrari driver had with Barrichello

Where did that came from,? Massa did not collide with Barichello in Australia.

You missed Monaco then. Massa storming away in the lead, Hamilton crashing and his crash fortuitously leading to a race win.

Then you missed silverstone with massa spinning 5 times and hamilton only not lapping top 3 drivers.

yes yes that includes MASSA and raikkonen

Massa and Kimi are another Berger/Alesi combination. Quite fast, very erratic and generally always find a way to stuff up.

Great comparison   .....however, I think Massa is more DC like unfortunately.
I want him out to make way for Alonso, but I don't mind if they dump Kimi instead.

How is Massa like DC? Massa is quick in 4 out of every 5 races, DC was slow in 4 out of 5 races.

They never had the machinery for it. They wasted B class cars, while, Kimi and Massa waste A class cars.

Did MS was a class A car in 2006?

Surely they may have some isolated events, some off weekends and such;

but tbh there's no waste when they, together, have that record of conquering 3 out of 4 titles possible since they started as partners. That's a great stat.

An error from Kubica it could be. Unfortunately, noone talked about that pratically, so we can't jump into conclusions.

Sure, but it's funny how Massa haters and Hamilton lovers only remember this single race and no others. You proved my point.

Didn't Massa take the front wing off though and blow the lead?

I'm sure Massa haters haven't forgotten Japan 07 where, with TC, Massa was still able to spin 2-3 times. Or the race after that in China where when it was raining he was hopelessly off the pace... Or Monza 08 where he kept going back on the score board... Or in Hungary 06 when he managed to finish a lap behind

I don't like Massa....I don't like his personality or his performance+ I can barely understand what he's saying half the time.
He's never done anything special and has often **** himself in the wet.

Alonso and Ferrari are destined to be together.

What do you think of the chances of getting Hamilton even next year? Apparently he is very pissed off with McLaren and there is the suggestion that McLaren could be in breach of contract by instructing him to lie.

As much as I like Massa, Hamilton in the Ferrari would be like what Senna had always wanted to do himself, it would be fantastic. And I'm sure him and Alonso could bury the hatchet too - Alonso hated McLaren not really Hamilton. Can you imagine getting this "dream team" together!!

Luca if you are reading, please make this happen! per favore!! per favore!!

I think Drivers are the least of Ferrari's problems at this point. Hamilton would be fine but I can't see Ferrari management taking a chance on a Hamilton/Alonso pairing if the rumors about Alonso's signing are true. They might be able to get along but what if they couldn't? One would inevitably come out on top and I can't see either being able to set their ego aside for the good of the team.

I think Raikkonen/Massa are a fine combination at the moment, the car is obviously slower than the top teams and they need to work on that.

But i'd love a Vettel/Hamilton or Vettel/Alonso combination in the future :)

The problem of Ferrari has never been the drivers...with the retirement of Schumacher the slow decent of the Scuderia started...the fall into the errors of the 80s...

Although I cannot respect Massa, because he is the same type of driver for me like Rubens was...going to Ferrari, well knowing, that he will be Number 2...

With Hamilton or Vettel or whoever the problem of Ferrari would be the same...

I think it was actually Brawn leaving that had the most effect. That and hiring Kimi, who while very quick just isnt as committed as Schumacher in a team sense. Brawn said yesterday maybe they made a mistake not bringing Button to Ferrari a few years back.

Brawn has to say that about Button...because he has to say, that he has the best drivers...

But I agree...one part of the decent was the leaving of Brawn...

Another bad day in the office, huh?

Kimi was decent until the tyre stop. What was that? Whose call was it?
Massa did what he could, but a slow car in the midfield will only go so far unless people start dropping out.

This is early 90s all over again, wow, seems so strange... but I wouldn't bet on them returning to form before it's too late.
