After successfully making his first Cup race earlier this year, Max Papis will be attempting to qualify at Texas. He ran 13th in an exciting Truck race in Martinsville last week.

Also a reminder to all our fantasy participants to update your rosters by 1 am EDT Friday!

Cheers!

Texas, ugh. The racing can be interesting, but it is Fox at it's absolute worst as they go all texan, big hats, spurs, bad accents and, well, just BIG. If I watch, I think it'll be on mute.

PVR, PVR, PVR. Only way to watch Nascar, I cut a 5 hour broadcast down to 1 1/12 hours of actual green light racing :)

Sky not showing the race live as IRL gets priority this weekend before then showing the race, I'll probably watch it on the internet.

This track is to Roush what Martinsville is to Hendrick....if they don't win or come very close might be time to worry about their mini slump. Racing can be pretty spread out (it's well geared towards someone hitting it perfectly and walking away) though they had two real good races in 06. Weird stuff happens though, remember the water coming up, Kyle leaving the track early and Jr driving for him, and Biffles and Kurt Busch's girlfriends having it out a couple years ago? :D

Rousche cars dominate with 150 to go and Montoya in top 10.

Montoya still running strong with 20 to go.
Good day for him, but getting to the Rousch/Hendrick level consistently is gonna be tough

Congratulations to Jeff Gordon. He was surprised to see JJ in 2nd... "Where did he come from?"...
Montoya had a great race.. How about Tony, running much better than when he was with Gibbs.
Carl had a messed up pitstop there at the end otherwise he would have been up there fighting for the win.
Its getting tougher and tougher now.. Juan finished 7th and only moved up one spot in the standings to 13th.
Overall a very good race.

Great job by Juan today, but shows the level of performance he's going to have to pull out every week if he is serious about contending for the Chase spots. Still it's been a hugely positive start to the season, apart from Atlanta the car has been top-15 material every single week.

Also pleased to see Jeff Gordon at last break his winless streak and where better to do it but at Texas, breaking two jinxes in one go.

Stewart has been a genuine surprise. That team may be scary in the second half.

Congrats to Jeff.

And my fantasy team.

Jeff Gordon finally won at Texas, a track that been giving him fits since it opened in 1997.

Hendrick gets it done, Roush does not. Biffle looked to be fastest by the end, as he got within 2.5 sec of Gordon after being way back at the restart.

Any thoughts on the COT at this juncture of its development? I really hope they make some changes or allow the teams more flexibility on working with it. There's occasional good racing, but the same old issues of track position don't seem to be addressed. There's too much management going on and not enough racing. If a car can lead 100 laps, it shouldn't be incapable of moving forward if it gets stuck back in the pack by a pit issue.

To me this simply translates to tough competition. There were always 18-24 cars on the lead lap and all of those cars ran within a fraction of a second of each other..

didn't realize that Truex and montoya were running different cars so far this season. montoya still running the car from last year with a chevy motor and body work, and truex is still running the DEI cars. so they are still not working as a team together! hopefully they will be running as a team next race

Juan owns Truex so far and edging closer to the front.

Sounds like excuse on the 1 camp.
