The FIA and the future of motorsport

Forget who lied to whom.
Look at the inability to make the correct decisions at the right time.
No decisions on diffusers even though a problem is known about for months.
No control of the race from race control during the race.
Stewards who do not appear to have the right qualifications before the season starts (but do appear to be owed favours by the "management").
Weird/draconian decisions made by the stewards on race day. Weird/draconian decisions made by the stewards later to correct the mistakes.
Some of the decisions only required because of the lack of race control.
Absolutely no consistency about the punishments.
A stated aim to save money, but making teams spend a fortune on KERS and possibly a fortune on reworking the cars because of diffusers when an early decision would have prevented the problem from arising.


I reckon the lunatics are running the asylum and I wonder if motorsport will be able to survive their incompetence.

If all these engine suppliers didn't have so much invested in the sport there's little doubt that most would have gone by now because of the FIA, and there's only 5 left. When was the last time F1 had only 5 different engines?
