If the claim is true or not, F1 goes back into similar territory when TC was banned the first time.

This story actually sounds plausible, if it were true. It's a crap joke.

Agreed. Hamilton to Brawn, Danica in Playboy. They make you giggle, and you move on. This story isn't actually funny, it isn't ridiculous - and indeed given the current climate in the paddock, it's totally, 100% plausible. Analysis of performance from engine noise isn't fiction - it's been done for some time.
There is a difference between writing a good April fool, and just writing bollocks.
http://www.autosport...rt.php/id/74124 is, to my mind, more plausible as April Fool. "The FIA process we've operated under ever since I've been in F1 is perfect in terms of how close you can get to perfect" - seriously - that's priceless.

May I just say, quite off topic, that although TC is banned, teams are still doing what they can to make it work (outside the spirit of the rules).
Discussed at length last year was the sound of a car as it left the pits, and so this year as I sat in turn 16 on the last corner before the straight at Albert Park, I wasnt at all surprised to hear several cars accelerate out of the corner with a very farty engine misfiring type of sound. Didnt happen often, but when it did it was obvious. Just like the TC of old.
Listen for it this weekend at the Malaysian GP. Since I was at the track, I havnt yet watched the TV broadcast of the Melbourne race, but if I see/hear anything when I do, I'll let you know.
