But how many wins does it take before people stop seeing the team as as an underdog who made it good, and they become a heartless 'evil empire', in the way that some people here see Ferrari and McLaren?

Even when I see Jenson and Rubens and the amazing turn of fortune they've had, I really want to feel happy for them, but then I see that "Brawn" logo and it all fades into drab white with a streak of fluorescent green...
I wish the team luck for the rest of the season, but the sooner they are caught by the rest, the better.
If it helps, as a team I like Brawn GP better than BAR or Honda Racing. Its only the boss I dislike (a lot).

There was nothing to dislike in the first place.
He knows when to seize an opportunity, by any means necessary.

Anyone saying he dislikes Brawn is probably just bummed out because of the Ferrari dominance when he was running that show, but a good sportsman/sportsfan is also capable of having respect for a worthy advisary, and if anything, Brawn has proven over and over again that he is just that!

And not only in F1 btw, remember the Jaguar sportscar anyone?

It just shows people's irrational hatred towards Ferrari more than anything.

"Hatred" of another team is always irrational.

So, which team do you hate and why do you hate that team, what has that team inflicted upon you that makes you hate them?
Is it the personnel or the ethos of this team or teams that you hate ?

Pace-wise he turned already the Brawn into Ferrari mark II (aka F2004 or F2002, though maybe not completety that level of dominance [yet]).
What we need to see is what the stickers (sponsors) will do to his team, but I simply can't see them becoming a corporate team like Mclaren/Ferrari any soon.
And I always liked him, too bad [for Ferrari] he doesn't help out Ferrari anymore.

He was hugely successful at Jaguar, Benetton and Ferrari and while many people wondered whether he could be successful at Honda I think we're now seeing the question answered. He's clearly a major force to be reckoned with in the paddock. I'm glad he turned his hand to what looked like a no-hope team because it's just cemented his reputation.

Let's face facts, even when Schumacher won another dull race for Ferrari in controversial circumstances, whether they were ethical (driving standards) or technical, the sun still rose didn't it?.....it's 'only' motor racing in the end, it's not the end of the world for goodness sake......so therefore, 'hatred' of another team is by definition 'irrational' ;)

if you beleive the legend, a spider spinning a web changed the destiny of a nation. Anything can change your life if you're open to it.

I guess I can't answer that rationally, but I'll try.
Don't get me wrong, there is absolutely no doubt the guys is brilliant, his achievements in the sport speak for themselves, but maybe his time alongside Schumacher and the incredible arrogance those two combined seemed to portray for a long time, their somewhat disregard for certain elements of good sportsmanship (in certain situations) has left me with a very bitter aftertaste which re-appears everytime I see his disgruntled demure (win or lose).
I view Brawn like many view Ron Dennis, someone I love to hate. Dare I say I have a lot more respect for RB than many others have for the old Ronster!

Either way, some would argue love or hate - I know of him, I have an opinion, I'm talking about him. I react to him.
Any publicity is good publicity, whatever you're noticed for, its worse not to be noticed at all.
The worst feeling is indifference.

I'm very happy for him and I've certainly become a big Brawn fan because of all that has happened lately.

very true (and sorry for continuing this philosophical debate in the pigpen lol) but if you're prepared to have your life changed by such an event, you're probably open-minded enough to not let your life be ruled by (as a random example) ferrari's pit strategy ;)
anyway, hats off to Ross and the team, i've always liked his 'relaxed' attitude to the sport.....i tend to think he never hated anyone tbh

Was this on the TV feed? Does anyone have a video clip or photo? I don't dispute what you're saying, just think it would be a great image (for the reason you stated) and I'd like to see it!

Yes it was on the TV feed and the commentators made particular mention of it too, though I was listening to both Ant & David as well as Jonathan and Martin so could have been any of them (but most probably Ant and David). I switched to the TV feed as soon as Jake and the mob started to appear on screen.Originally posted by RedBaron

Yep, great spot. Compare this to Briatore, who probably doesn't even know what wet tyres are.

can say this about Flavio, Gazza or Jean Tod, Brawn weren't a masterpiece in the chess as Byrne was!
turning over rules on diffusers and getting edge of no runing the complexity of KERS mean nothing, in 2008 Brawn effect never came, even with a hug budget, so Brawn has no credit for me! jsut another tech from ex "successfull" teams that runs his own, Newey has more credit for me as "masterpeice"
