"It remembered me 2007 season. It's not the first time they meet stewards, it's not the first time they lie to the stewards and soon or later they had to be punished. Of course I lost the championship by one point and racing at Hungaroring they made me a dirty trick"

Yes but at some point you have to let the past be past.
Just because someone shoves a microphone in your face does not mean you are obliged to help them earn their salary. He should focus on the struggles of Renault team and his own career. :

Perhaps realistic is a better word. I don't doubt that every race he's in that car he pushes 100%.

Yes, how humble and fair of him to put the blame for the Hungaroring penalty on McLaren, to make himself look better retrospectively. A true saint if there ever was one!Originally posted by K-One

How can we be sure that Alonso is not lying about lying when at Mclaren? If he lied before, he is probably capable to do it again

Would you look at all the little hammy fanbois scrambling to protect their man and his team.
They have a history, whether you choose to recognise it or not.
A more hypocritical team you will not meet.

First, I am both British and quite a fan of Alonso, so don't assume (as you seem to be) that being British = being an Alonso Basher. We are not all jingoistic, and I don't suppose all Spaniards are either.
Second, and on a slightly pedantic note (although I daresay an even great pedant will also point out a flaw in my post! )...the world population is around 6,000,000,000. The population of great Britain is around 60,000,000, so around 1% of the world population is British, not 0.01 as you suggest.

1. McLaren lied at Hungary
2. McLaren made Alonso lie to the stewards at Hungary or
3. Both 1 and 2?

Well, my Spanish is little above shite but I'd have to choose option 1. Strictly speaking, he doesn't seem to be saying anything that unquestionably rules out options 2 and 3, but only 1 is explicitly (well, almost) spelled out. Martin Whitmarsh would disagree but the implication seems clear enough.Originally posted by Gareth
Sorry for this, my language skills are terrible. Is Alonso saying:
1. McLaren lied at Hungary
2. McLaren made Alonso lie to the stewards at Hungary or
3. Both 1 and 2?
Cheers for any clarifications.
But like I said, my Spanish limps.

He' saying that McLaren lied in Hungary in front of the stewards and played dirty tricks against him, which is something everyone knows in Spain since then.

given that the penalty imposed by the stewards was for "misleading information", Alonso was asked if this situation reminded him to the Hungarian GP back in 07. "Of course it reminded me of 2007" was his answer.
"No es la primera vez que van a ver a los comisarios, no es la primera vez que mienten a los comisarios y tarde o temprano tenían que sancionarles. Por supuesto ahí perdí el Mundial por un punto y en Hungría se me jugó una mala pasada".
"it is not the first time that they go to see the stewards, it is not the first time that they lie to stewards and sooner or later they had to be penalized. Of course, right there I lost the WDC for one point and in Hungary they played dirty tricks on me. "
