I'm thinking Ferrari, even if they had the worst start to the year so far.

Hamilton always makes his way through the field, even from rubbish grid positions.

Agree, it must be Ferrari, atleast if we're talking winning on merit. They're closer to the front than McLaren and Renault.

Ferrari, IMO, greatest potential and Kimi has been in 2 good positions to only throw it away.

Of the three mentioned it will probably be Ferrari, assuming they learned something form the debacle in Sepang. Otherwise, Lewis will luck it out.

IMO, the big three would have Williams and not Renault, even though Williams hasn't won in a very long while.

As of now, Ferrari seems in better shape than McLaren or Renault, but the Chinese upgrades can change things between them. I'd put my money on Ferrari anyhow.

I fancy Lewis Hamilton.

"Neither team will win a race this year."

Which two teams are you referring to?

On balance you have to say the fastest car of the three seems to be Ferari. So they should be able to do it. I can bet my bottom dollar that if it was lewis or alonso in that car, we wouldn't be talking of diffusors, but evenly matched car to brawn-gp.

Believe it or not, TV ratings are up in the UK by ~25% even without the big three winning.

sure..that's what everybody said kimi would do when he comes to ferrari
show the whole world bla bla, wipe the floor with massa etc
it's not like on tv ninja :)
lewis or alonso in their cars show exactly that a good driver needs a good car.

neither lewis nor alonso would have done ANYTHING about the 3 out 4 race ending failures of ferrari in the last 2 races.

Got to be Ferrari. McLaren and Ferrari were in same position with development right the way through '08, yet McLaren dropped a clanger much more so than Ferrari. Ferrari have lost their edge, but McLaren their entire mojo it seems.

Bernie will be pleased and use this to further his agenda of nightraces in Asia.

First win for a big three team, I'd say Ferrari if they clean up their act.

Malaysia was more of a team decision. It was obvious after 2-3 laps that their plan had failed.

But, yes, Ferrari will get the win. Renault (how are they a top 3 team?) and McLaren just have had too many issues in testing and the first two races. Both teams have drivers on the verge of losing their jobs. Ferrari has pretty much got this in the bag, and I would expect by the time F1 makes it to Europe, they will have already scored a win.

I'd rather wonder whether its gonna be mclaren or ferrari that are going to win instead of button running away with it unchallenged TBQH.

Correctamundo.

Hamilton is showing his grit. This is why I cheer him on. He's got "it". I see more Mansell than Senna in him.

Not just the UK, also Germany but IMHO that has got more to do with the more "civilized" starting times for European viewers than anything else.
I`d wait for the first euro races for a conclusion.

voted ferrari as they showing some signs of pace at least whilst renault and mclaren are both much slower.

hamilton has the ability to get a shock result for mclaren but with the recent negativity I think his heart wont be in it for a while.

Ferrari you would say right now, but if the rear diffuser IS a big gain I fancy McLaren will have one before either Ferrari or Renault so things could swing enough in their favor for Hamilton to grab a win.

Fair point. No-one understands that decision, also I don't understand why Mac didn't roll the dice, they had so little to lose. But still smarting from Monza Q perhaps.

Curious how human these decisions are, when you might think the data would make them.

I'd think o ne of the Ferraris is most likely as they are closest to the front of the grid. Although one should never bet against Hamilton, he's shown an ability to come forward from deep in the pack.

BMW, Toyota or Red Bull look more like winning than any of the options above, Ferrari just need a straight race with no massive errors to demonstrate their pace, McLaren have serious issues to resolve before we can really say where they stand and Renault don't look much more sorted than the McLaren, though they can at least make it to Q3.

Still, if you have a bit longer memory, if you hear "big three" being said then immediately Ferrari, McLaren and Williams tend to come to mind. Just an observation.

That's what I thought, what with the word 'old' being used. Renault are a very recent member of a 'big three' in the grand scheme of history. Of those three mentioned, though, I'd hope it'll be McLaren, but suspect that Ferrari will get there first, as usual in the past decade...

Voted Ferrari, but Kimi's pace in the dry at the end of his first stint wasn't anything special. Which is why they took a big gamble (a gamble that backmarkers teams usually take though  ). They have some developing to do but are closest to the front at this point.

I dont think any team will. They are two far behind with too many other good competitors. If they do it will be in a whacky race imho
