Is this possible that the Toyota engine is optimized for more torq than HP.
Mega start in Sepang from Nico.

Q It was an amazing start by Nico from the dirty side of the grid. How did he do it? You could probably put it down to some great engine torque from Toyota.

Last year Toyota über start in Spa and other very good starts, when they takes 2-3 places in start.

Sorry for bad english :p

Nothing to do with torque, it's about how the drivers apply the power.

Not really. It's, as always, far more complicated than that.

It isnt really. It's down to the driver, as the first reply pointed out.

Naka was surrounded by KERS cars.
Glock Timo was too much wheelspin
Trulli dont no, maybe bad start.
But how do you explain the good start the previous year.
In Speedtrap list, Toyota engine is last.
HP = Top Speed
Torq = Acceleration

Start = grip, low wheelspin.

Driver is the least important factor during starts. The car is what matters the most. Read Nico Rosberg's interview after Malaysia GP.

Well kaivo asked "Is this possible that the Toyota engine is optimized for more torq than HP?"

Then tried to justify it with the example of Rosberg's start...

Forget it, I'm not here to argue, I was talking about the Toyota engine, like the thread title, and this other chap was talking about the dirvers.

It's interesting that Chubby and hunnylander havent bothered to answer the original question. At least I did. You're welcome to prove me wrong, maybe I am, I just posted my opinion on the matter. I'm no expert on engine torque, I was just pointing out other factors at work at the start.

No, you haven't. You made up your own questions (about factors contributing to quality of starts) and then tried to answer them - not always correctly.
See title of thread for clue.

That would only make sense if Toyota powered cars usually got great starts which I don't believe they do. There seems to be a certain degree of luck on starts where sometimes a driver nails it. It's probably more down to tyre temps been perfect and getting the clutch set up to 'bite' which is as much guess work as science.
