There is a lot of talk over the 'Marmite' Brawn livery.

What do you guys/gals considder the real classic and greatest car livery?
I personally like the Marlboro McLaren and Scarlet Ferrari Liveries of the Early 90's

Ligier JS11.

Brabham-BMW BT52.

Pretty much any pre-sponsorship car in Italian racing red or French racing blue.

Nearly anything pre-sponsorship. Early to mid 60s Lotus and BRM, green with a splash of yellow or red. Now THATs classic.

MP4/14 is that 1999? Is that a testing photo, I don't remember that front wing? Nor do I remember Siemens mobile sponsor on it. I'm confused.

Edit: I guess it isn't, it is running Michelins.

Edit again: But it doesn't have number 1 on it? It has a 6, MP4/17? But I still don't remember that wing? Someone please sort my brain out, I'm lost as to what conclusion I'm even trying to reach now.

The West McLarens are the greatest liveries.

I also really like the Rothmans Williams which enabled a very smart paint job and team/driver clothing, no Williams has managed to look quite as good since the last Rothmans car in 1997 although the current 2009 car's livery is quite similer so I would say I like that too.

Red Bull Racing 2007 onwards.

B&H Jordan 1997/98/99 bright yellow

Original Team Merlyn. We copied it, kind of, with my son's first kart.
Great looking stuff, all these liveries. I really liked the 1964 G. Hill BRM, but can't find one to post. That dark green with orange (red?) nose surround and classic "cigar" shape was beautiful to an old school artist!

The livery of the R26 in specific race was awesome. It was the ones they used where they had theses tribal white marks where it would say team spirit or mild 7. I think they used them from after Monaco-Turkey in 2006 in those race only.

My other personal favorites, in no particular order

Hunt's 75 Hesketh.....simple no sponsor bliss

Embassy Hill......looked great at any angle

JPS Lotus.......seemed to be a universal favorite

UOP Shadow.....Looked right

Yardley McLaren....again....simple but effective

This is from Silverstone 06, I don't see any "team spirit" in it but it's very nice livery

The 'Samson Shag' sponsored Shadow DN9B of Jan Lammers. Not exactly good but very lurid.

Aguri Suzuki has good relations with Honda and that car is most likely part of Honda's collection. It is not owned by McLaren any longer.

And I'm not actually sure it's him driving. Can anyone confirm?

The 1977-78 blue & gold Wolf cars were even better looking than the JPS Lotuses.

that pic is from one of Honda's Thanks Day events in japan, or pre-Japan GP entertainments.

at these events, Nakajima snr and Suzuki often do demo-runs of old Honda powered cars, such as Williams, Mclaren, Lotus, and 60s Honda.

not sure when, could be last year, could be 04. but Nakajima and Suzuki do this at every Honda's events for as long as i can remember.

The Ferrari's circa 1989/1990 - the best looking Ferraris for a long time.. (why did they change to that 'shade' they use now? Im not too keen on it  Was it a Marlboro thing?)

Any Canon Williams Honda, and although in not too hooked on this years McLaren (somthing odd about the way the car looks, the nose is too high near the driver i think), all the 'chrome' ones have been superb looking.

And although it wasnt raced, the test williams FW14, in 'carbon' - that looked mean, i think Tamiya did a kit of it in that finish, or you could do it like that. Brilliant!
