Nicolas Todt / ART thinking about a move into F1???

Link

Could that be one of the new teams the powers that be have spoken about for 2010?

I think that his ally with Ferrari/FOTA would be quite strong to say the least, so I don't think he'll be one of the Bernie-lickers  Seriously, it'd be great with a French team, but I doubt it til I see it!

This rumour has already been going on for a really long time. Even if it's recent statements by Nicolas, I'll believe when I see it.

I'd like to believe it - ART would probably be a cut above most new teams. Although if Jean Todt is serious about becoming the head of the FIA it could be tricky.

I hate Nicolas Todt, everytime his face comes on Tv i feel nothing but extreme annoyance. He just has one of those annoying faces. That, and the fact that he is related to Jean.

France have almost as much F1 history as the UK and sorely need a new track and some decent drivers once again.

Hope ART happens, much as Todt's dad and his toady ways were always a pet hate of mine.

I do not understand why 'hate' becomes part of the discussion of a possible new F1, this board is filled with threads and posts bemoaing the shrinking of the grid, then a possible new team may happen and nothing is right with it.

USGPE (or what ever it will end being named) is moving along nicely despite the vitrolic outbursts from this board. If ART were to follow, we the fans should applaud that someone somewhere have the guts and inclination to actually do what Prodrive proved unable to do, field a new team in F1.

It is no secret that I am a huge fan of Jean Todt, I however fail to understand why like or dislike of the father should mean anything on what and how I feel about the son.

Fact is that ART have been a very strong GP2 team, which should be a good base to become an entrant in F1.

It may or may not happen, there are few junior formula teams with better credentials to make the move right now in y opinion.

This would be great, a team from France in the championship again.

As long as Jean is nowhere near it then it would be a good thing.

And as already posted a race back in France at a decent track is a must IMO

As far as i am aware the only thing that seems to happen when Jean gets involved in a team is it wins.

So if a good thing for you is achieved by sub standard performance, much like France's last play in F1 (Prost) then i agree.

That is really it with Jean Todt.

He have been involved in Autoracing since the 1970ies, he is as much as Williams, Denis and Patrick an 'old school' racer.

And all he have ever been involved in have been successful, he have spread himself over different types of autoracing and been winning, in Rally in Sportscars and in F1. His son owns part of a team which is winning in F3 and GP2, what exactly is there not to like for racefans?

I think it's mainly McLaren fans/anti-Ferraristi who don't like Todt. I wonder why. :p

Todt's Ferrari beat the crap out of McLaren for over half a decade.;)

I welcome any new team to Formula 1, no matter who runs it, why and how. Well, that last bit might not be the best choice of words, since we really don't need another Andrea Moda, do we...

It'll definitely be awesome if ART comes into F1, but I'll believe it when I see it.
