Waiting for the appropriate venue. Maybe Summit Point in May or the Glen 6 hours in June.
Then we'll see how brave I am.

The TNF Anniversary polo shirt features with renowned team boss and entrant, Colin Bennett and the Ronnie Peterson Italian GP winning March 761 that he entered today for Katsu Kubota in the Grand Prix Masters race at Donington Park. Must have brought him luck as Katsu won his first ever race!

That was never on the telly, but Ustinov's commentary brought it to life for me, and many others, I suspect!

Proud receiver of a black fleece jacket and a blue polo shirt today. Excellent quality and design, and a real treat to see the TNF emblem in a tangible form.
I couldn't be more pleased.
Thank you Mr Giraffe. I appreciate your efforts.

Here is Giraffe suitably attired, trying out the new Ferrari Scuderia Spider 16M with the demonstrator at Goodwood, Ray Grimes. Ray is ane ex-British karting champion who was once sponsored by David Coulthard's dad. He is also driving instructor to JK from Jamoroqai and attends our Northern meeting, being the TNF fixer for Chevron and others.

The TNF polo was "de rigeur" at the TNF 10th Anniversary fish & chip supper at the Green Man near the Silverstone Circuit on Friday evening. Both famous author / biographer, wit & raconteur Graham Gauld and iconic pillar and founding father of TNF, Don Capps shot admiring glances at the three polo shirts on display. Don has now become the most recent custodian of one of these classic items of 'dashery!

The TNF polo shirt was recognised at Silverstone yesterday from the previous evening (where he made a cameo appearance) by none other than Murray Walker OBE.

pissedbibulous in those pictures?
Pissed off is more appropriate, Vitesse. Whilst MSV laid on a splendid selection of fine wines, champagne and canapes at the F5000 driver's reception at Oulton Park on Sunday, I limited myself to one small glass of red.
This was the reason contained in my post on the Gold Cup thread, and copied to the chairman of HSCC Chris Sharples by e-mail:
"One slight downer from last night's reception, whilst the old drivers, Sid and Bob were up being interviewed by Marcus Pye, the current Derek Bell posse & entourage/hangers on showed considerable disrespect to them paying more attention to the drinks, canapes and nattering. Despite the intervention of Marcus Pye who struggled on faultlessly and the supreme patience of the old pilots who stood their ground, they refused to desist.
I could name a few names inparticular, but I couldn't believe that they were not prepared to seize the opportunity to listen to these guys whom they are striving to emulate & who where considerably superior to the current crop in their day, and in a couple of instances, still are! "
... to which I received this reply:
The noise in the evening presentation irritated me. I tried a bit of ‘shooshing’ but it only worked for a few minutes. Next year I think we’ll need more loudspeakers, a microphone which is a bit more sensitive and we’ll need to have Marcus offer people the opportunity to stand in the foyer if they wish to talk whilst the guests are being interviewed and be more assertive.
Best regards,
Chris
....that may explain my demeanour, Vitesse! Sorry if this is a bit O/T.

I feel I must echo David's sentiments regarding multiple giraffe photographs. Reminds me of the occasion when Henry Manney witnessed Jo Bonnier grabbing a photographers camera and threatening to break it after he had taken a photo of the Swiss. Henry wrote "....this must be the first time in history Bonnier has refused to have his picture taken !! "

You are of course quite right as usual, Graham (except when it comes to melons & milk from Ventemiglia!) However, there is a certain inevitability about my appearance on this particular thread as there are only eleven polo shirt owners worldwide (with one more just signed up) and this thread is dedicated to TNF apparel!
Normally I am not in a position to photograph myself as I am alone, but I must admit to going over the top when my partner accompanies me, but this is purely aimed at giving the shirts more exposure. Clearly it hasn't worked however (not that I would ever expect a Scotsman to purchase one ), and I shall take your valued advice and cease the campaign forthwith. From now on I shall endeavour to emulate Roger Clark and exit stage left whenever a lens in trained on me (much to the delight of Alan Cox!)

If you follow this link there is a picture of three chaps wearing their TNF Polo Shirts none of whom are a long necked quadruped.
http://forums.autosp...a...t&p=3807776
This photo represents 25% of the TNFers in the world today who own TNF polo shirts (if you include Rob Ryder who currently has an order under process!) Some TNFers are multiple owners which brings the total in existance to 17 plus the prototype and there are a total of 3 fleeces in circulation (including my own!).
I don't know how the teeshirts have sold, but apart from FrankS on the forum and myself the only other one I have seen out there was worn by Twinny at the Silverstone Classic!
It does make me wonder when I keep running into people in other forum's shirts! Maybe Alan Cox has had a point all along, and me appearing in the shirt so much has had a detrimental effect on sales?!?! Personally, I really love mine (as you have all born witness to) but I can see why it doesn't appeal to a certain gendre of TNFer....
Ahh well, never mind! Wasn't it Basil Fawlty who said "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it shave".

Most welcome Gregor!Well I like them and am thinking of ordering a white to go with my collection, after all I have three Vauxhall Firenzas so why not three TNF Polo shirts?!
Personally I own two with "GIRAFFE #81", the prototype with "1999-2009", the only red polo in existance, and a green fleece! I have a big wardrobe but you must have a huge garage, Gregor!
