Always sad news. Pam attended several of the Augusta Vintage Nationals events here in Augusta, Georgia at the former Augusta Internaitonal Raceway where her father won his last race.

If you believe in those types of things she is now with her "daddy" as she called him.

Henry

Pamela Roberts Trivette: Pamela Roberts Trivette, the only child of the late NASCAR legend Glenn "Fireball" Roberts, died Sunday at her home in Rockledge. The cause of death has not been announced. She was 58. Fireball Roberts, of course, is the Apopka native who became one of the first NASCAR superstars, winning 33 races, including the Daytona 500. He died on July 2, 1964, after being badly burned in a crash at Charlotte weeks earlier. Pam, as she was known to the NASCAR community, was active in Daytona Beach-area historical functions, and maintained a Web site dedicated to her father at www.fireball22.com. Motorsports historian Roland Via has a tribute to Pam at the Web site he maintains, www.fireballroberts.com, which also has a link to an excellent profile on Pam by Florida Today writer Mark DeCotis, which talks about the book she was writing on her father.(Orlando Sentinel)(4-28-2009).

One quick story.

Dave MacDonald was killed at Indy on week before "Fireball" had his accident in Charlotte which resulted in his death several weeks later. Both accidents involved fire. In 2006 I was able to make arrangements for Pam Roberts to meet Sherry MacDonald here in Augusta at our annual event. There is another part of the story which will not be detailed here but let me say this was one of my most cherrished memories.

God Speed Pam!

Her "daddy's" street is next to the former Augusta International Raceway that is being developed into Diamond Lakes Regional Park and her father is engraved several times on the Augusta International Raceway Monument that is located in the "5WKids Outdoor Learning Area" at Motorsports Memorial Plaza.
