Started going to Indiana in about 95 during this week in May. Business forcd me to go to the race track to pedal my wares and there a boy raised in Road Racing came to grips with Ovals. It was sprints at Anderson Wednesday night, Thursday was Carburation Day so everybody went to the Speedway, Friday Champ Cars on the mile dirt at Indy Fairgrounds, Saturday midgets at IRP in the Nite Before the 500. Seemed like it wasn't Spring till then.

I had an email from a friend of mine last night letting me know he was off to the Speedway for the weekend. I'm sure he did it just to make me jealous - It worked

I'm also jealous. Looks like he bagged two for the price of one.

Champ Cars on the mile dirt at Indy Fairgrounds,

Errr, isn't that dirt cars on the mile at the Fairgrounds? In the current vernacular Champ Cars were Lola B-02/00s and Panoz DP-1s.

I respect your opinion, but it's still lump in the throat time when you're out there on the grid with all those people watching, and the jets fly over, and they give the command....

That's what Bourdais said in 2004 when he was on the grid and Newman-Haas/Jim McGee Inc were running Junqueira in a single car. It was his first time at the speedway and he said he wanted to be in a car the next year.

Well you're just a lucky guy, Buford. Some of us were not so forunate to have been at Indy during the glory days and must make do with the current product.

And I daresay if you screwed that liposuctioned, makeup-trawled old hag with MY thing, she would instantaneously revert to her sexy, svelt and voluptuous self.

Ha ha ha ha. Well I will be watching on TV... but I will never again put a dime into the pocket of Tony George and while I have never been a Penske fan - I will be rooting for Will Power. Good luck Nigel.

Interesting, as I came back from the kitchen (preparing my "TV dinner" - how very Americano :D), they interviewed Richard Petty, and I instantly recognized him - took me a bit longer to realize that it was Derek Daly conducting the interview!

Hey, they just interviewed the trophy girl, and she talked about how exciting it will be to kiss the winner... it got me thinking... how about, can I volunteer to be the "trophy boy" when Danica wins?
