750cc Supercup 1990:

You should easily find 600cc, 250cc and 125cc action from the same meetings.

Thanks for the vid, great stuff indeed  ....love the push start, even way back in '81, these guys weren't youngsters any more

Edit: 'Graeme Crosby' at 7:10 looks remarkably like Mick Grant...

No it's an old TV documentary I have on VHS

Thanks in advance for uploading.
Isn't it tragic that John lost his son at Brands, the circuit which is virtually his back yard...

has anyone seen this one yet the Sunflower trophy 1989 races with steve cull on the nortan, ron haslam on the rgv 500, gary cowan on the tz 250 and all the rest. probably one of the greatest races ive ever seen, wish i was there to witness that one, type in eddie laycock into you tube and its there :drunk:

Awesome!!!

and I can say I had the privelege of being there.

Gary Cowan on a standard private TZ250 putting a lot of very good riders on very good machinery to shame.

The real shame though was that Gary's career was cut short in such a tragic way at Daytona in 1990. Who knows .........

Excellent, it appears to be the same bit of film (exactly the same?) from 12mins on as first practice on GP circuit, Roy Flower passed going into Westfield, how did Roy manage to be @ Brands & Snetterton last weekend by the way?

Hi Russ,

My mistake there as not Imatra it's the Eläintarha track in Helsinki. They had an international there from the 30s onwards, but stopped in the early 60s. You're right though! Must have paid well !

This one is worth a look. It's from the 2010 AHRMA Barber meeting and is the GP200 and it's like a good old club racing scrap.

It's a great track, good surface, plenty of elevation changes, good mix of slow and fast corners. That's just the circuit, the whole place is amazing, acres of manicured lawns, good access roads....and a fantastic museum on site.

The video was taken by Lanny Henderson, the current AMA 200GP Champion on a Yamaha, the bloke he chased who eventually finished 3rd was Denis Poliet on a Honda and the winner was Jack Parker on another Yamaha.

A Dunnell Manx on the dyno - I'd love to know what that things revving to  !

And the 1957 Catalina race in the USA - interesting if only for the derisory comments about Yamaha at the beginning and near the end. If only they knew what was to come  !

That is an interesting clip. The rider's bike is a Yamaha CT1 with a TR3 cylinder grafted to the cases. Did anyone notice all his shifts were clutchless? I was there but holed a piston in practice on my bike and borrowed a friends for this race. In 2011, the starting grid for GP200 had 52 entries and I was gridded in the 11 row. I managed a 20th on Sat and 16th on Sun.

paul

p.s. Ralph Hudson #35 is the rider who dices with him in the black white and yellow leathers in the beginning of the race on a Honda CB160.
