Pete,

I think you need to edit your date for Goodwood. Currently bit early for racing at this famous venue.

For #9 listed as R W McKenzie, go to page 2 of TNF (as I tap this out) to view 'Prototype Alexander Turner GT Coupe raced in 61/62 by Wing Commander K.W Mackenzie' this should be the one and the same.

This is the 1961 TT winning Rob Walker/Dick Wilkins 250GT SWB 2735 GT now owned by Chris Kerrison that co-driver Robin Benson crashed into the wreckage of Clark's Zagato Aston and the Surtees 250GTO that had collided at Madgwick during the 1962 TT. It was later rebuilt using a Drogo body and upgraded specification wise.

Misc notes :

Lord Clydesdale ( Angus Clydesdale) is now the Duke of Hamilton. During the War Rudolph Hess, of the German High Command, was captured in Scotland trying to get to Angus's father, whom he had met at the Berlin Olympic Games, to broker some kind of deal to end the war. Hess was captured and after the war died in Spandau prison.

I think at that time the second Tojeiro-Buick was in the process of being built but the following season Jimmy Blumer, in your list, and Jackie Stewart raced the two cars.

Douglas Graham was one of the first drivers to race an Ecosse Tojeiro-Buick and he is the D Graham mentioned above. He is a newspaper publisher.

Some names for you:
John Nicholson and Philip Arnold.

Graham: Did Jimmy race the Ecosse Tojeiro in 1963? Didn't he have a few runs out in the Ecosse Monaco, before Jackie Stewart took over? He was also bit busy with the Cortina in the BSCC and the Andrews Special.

OK DC. Here goes

Jimmy Blumer drove the Ecurie Ecosse Monaco four times early in 1963 and Jackie did not drive the Monaco for the first time until August.Jimmy Blumer drove the Tojeiro-Buick at Ouston in June that year. The Tojeiro Jimmy drove was the original Climax engined car which had its chassis number changed when it was given a Buick engine.

A week later Jimmy drove the same car at Charterhall with Jackie Stewart now in the other Tojeiro-Buick - the second chassis which was Buick engined from the start.

From then on Jackie Stewart raced the Tojeiro-Buick and in 1964 the Buick engine was change for a Ford V8 which he also drove.

For the record the Cooper-Monaco mentioned in the entry list on this post with Jimmy Blumer at the wheel was not the Ecurie Ecosse car but the one bought by Newcastle confectioner Jack ? ( Sorry forget his name) who ran a number of cars for Jimmy.

What information do you want exactly? I knew/know a fair number of people on each of the lists you posted. In fact I had lunch with one of them last week.
Lay out your parameters and I wil try to help

Many thanks for that, Graham. I believe the Geordie ‘Sweetie Magnate’ was Jack Lawson.

Mainly first names of drivers listed with initials only , and the car types ie a Lotus ? 11 LM, 23b. , or 41, etc .

I have through this board managed to indentify a fair few , both on the Libre thread, and hopefully this one . I would also start threads on Saloon cars, etc later .
From 68 onward the drivers are more often refered to by their first names in Programme entry list , but the early one do not .

Its funny how you look at a name and cant think of the right one , then a sudden inspiration say is it so and so . this happened with the C. Williams, I was thinking Chris or Charlie etc not thinking of Cyril (Cyd ) Williams till i posted the list .

Same happened when Adrian Chambers was named , its so obvious now , but at the time brain goes dead .lol :)

After all these years its not supprising .

I think your C M Williams was Chris not Cyd - different chap who did mainly F3.

Jack Alderslade and I think Ken Wilson for the Lister, although there was also a Keith Wilson

Sorry to come to this so late, but the LW Keens listed above is Laurie Keens, who bought Lotus 23 23-S-11 new in 1962.

Doesn't get you much further but as Tesco say: every little helps!

Robin McArthur raced the ex-Mike Beckwith Lotus 23 23-S-6 in 1963 .....Michael

Does anyone recall who had the 23 after McArthur in 1964/5 and does anyone recall details of Robin McArthur and McArthur Weston racing?
Has anyone a list of Lotus 23 factory chassis details showing owners from new in 1963?

I think Graham Capel's book on Lotus 23s lists all the first owners.

Dont know how good you guys are with Historics of the day but try this entry.

Event 3 Long John Trophy for Historics
...
115 P.L.Stone Salmson GP Special 1087

P.L. Stone was Peter Stone who came from Northwood, Middlesex. His Salmson was a late 1920s voiturette racer.

Sadly, Pete was killed when the Salmson overturned at Copse corner on 4th July 1964 (I think I have the date right) in practice for a supporting race of the Martini Trophy. He was 20 years old.

He was intending to come round on the Sunday to help me sort out the carburettion of my 1936 Frazer-Nash BMW. I never did get it to run properly.
