There is some great footage at the web address below. It was mentioned on another motor racing forum who consider it "off topic" !
The feature race in the film was the 25-lap, 100-mile Bridgehampton Cup Race won by Tom Cole in a Chrysler-Allard averaging 82.37 mph. There are at least 3 XK120's and Fitch XK120 special
There is a special that has "Grand Prix Motors" on the side towing an Effyh F3 does anyone know anything about the special or "Grand Prix Motors" there is photo of special and Grand Prix Motors signage at http://groups.yahoo....1599623493/view

Tom Cole ran an SS100 at the 1949 Bridgehampton Races,
Does anyone have a photo of Tom at this event or a copy of the programme that would list the capacity of the car
regards terry

Joel Finn's Bridgehampton book has a picture (p37) showing the car hitting hay bales. It did not prevent Cole finishing second overall mind you. The car has cycle wings. Here is the description in the main text : "a modified SS100 Jaguar, just arrived two days earlier on the Queen Mary from England. The car was filthy and completely unprepared as it had come straight to the track after years of storage". Finn's "American Road Racing 1948-1950" has another photo, showing the car being registred FXX 539. Hope that helps a bit, but nothing about the engine capacity.

Erault,
thanks for that I must admit I don't have Joel Finn's Bridgehampton book as yet but do have his "American Road Racing 1948-1950" book which I have obviously not looked at carefully enough, but thanks greatly
