Help wanted Porsche 911 T/R Ernst Seiler and Dolf Amacher

Hello to you all and and help!!

I have just acquired a 1968 911 T/R and am trying to research the history of it. The car was raced in 1968 and 1969 by a Swiss driver named Ernst "Hunter" Seiler from Romanshorn. He seems to have raced the car extensively during these years in the DARM and other events. As far as I can tell he entered races at Hockenheim, Mainz Finthen, Flugplatz Altenrhein, Monza, Wunsdorf, Flugplatz Ulm, Dijon, Montlhery, Nurburgring Ulm Lampheim, Oberhallau and Neubiberg Flugplatz. Key races were the 1968 & 1969 Coupe du Salon on Montlhery, 1969 Jim Clark Memorial at Hockenheim, 1969 Hockenheim 300 Meilen and the 1968 Solitudrennen at Hockenheim. The car was Swiss road registered and the registration number was TG 1514.

In 1970 Ernst sold the car to another Swiss racer, Dolf Amacher, who continued to compete in various circuit races and hillclimbs until 1973. I have very limited history during his ownership.

Does anyone have any records, articles or (even) photos of the car by any chance? I am keen to know more!

I have some of Dr. Eymans collection from those races. Can you give me a hint for the color and door number? I am not a Porsche guy, so I need some hint what to look for. Not sure wether I can spot the licence no. that you gave.

Sorry, could not find further single shots of such a white Porsche in my reproductions of Dr. Eymanns archive, but he had numerous Porsche racing pics, that I did not check out, mostly from prof. photographer Jutta Fausel.

you easily have alredy done what follows but anyhow ....
I'd suggest to start with checking chassis numbers and engine by Porsche reg.: this first step could lead you to get a full history of the car from its 1st registration as new onward,included the concessionary which sold it.
Then if the car had been regularly reg. for road use you could easily find out the following owners and possibly contact them: may be there's still some doc.in their hands.
I'd also take a look at the tuners which dealed with this car: if you're aware of a tuning comp.which has worked on it you could ask them for infos...

Thanks for the suggestions. I have tracked down the original dealer and have a copy of the original reg document in Switzerland. Unfortunately I think that the two previous racer owners have passed away, however. Good suggestion on tracking down the dealer who maintained the car. Will give that a try.
