I was wondering if you have any advice? Whats the best way to get to the track from Sao Paulo? And is it worth it to visit Senna's grave? Any other general advice is greatly appreciated!

Fellow Formula1 lovers from Brazil, I have a question about your F1 race. I kind of got lucky and will attend the Brazilian GP problaby. It is quite unexpected, but all the more joysome!

Hi Requiem, check out my trackside reports from the 4 GPs I attended there, there is plenty of info (but no real advice per se).

Hmm ... Palmeiras will play at race time ... maybe they will broadcast it? If so, what a day it will be, won't see the race live and will see Palmeiras going to 2nd division (yes, I'm palmeirense)
Hi Tiakumosan, I'm sorry that your Palmeiras was in the way of my Flu. I actually thought they'd give Palmeiras the game, in exchange for that 2010 help, but I guess that Fred really wanted to start his vacation right away.
As for Globo showing the USGP live, forget it, they don't care about the fans, only about their business. We'll have to wait till SporTV show the re-run at 10pm.

You sure? FOM contract doesn't allow it, afaik.SporTV will run it live.
Edit: Besides, Globo confirmed the Qualifying on Saturday @16:00. Unfortunate they've confirmed as well some lame football game on Sunday... Where did you get that SporTV will show the race on Sunday?

Autoracing Blog (http://autoracing.virgula.uol.com.br) confirmed this. I guess it was Lito Cavalcanti information, and I am trying to double check with him.

I'd seen it on Lito's tweet feed, sorry for not mentioning it.
And I guess FOM is fine with it, isn't it what's going on in the UK with some races free to air and other ones on paid TV?
Globo's problem would be with the local sponsors, but they must have sorted that out.
Anyway is a change on Globo's politics, the clash has happened before and us the viewers where always let hanging, looking at pips in volleyball games.
They must be having an important decrease on regular F1 viewing numbers, because this year has already seen the introduction of all year pre-race show for the first time as far as I can remember. So we are slipping away and now we get some love...

I still think they've dealt with FOM though — their contract I am sure says no live qual or races on cable. Perhaps FOM took it as an exception this time (and it actually isn't, just show the 19:30 football games or start one @ 15:00 — Globo owns all Série A schedule, they can do whatever they want). Which is weird as long as F1 will get less attendance, but if they are happy with it so are we!

The last thing we need is a new tilkedrome, when a refurbished Interlagos can be just fine.
Even the new Rio track, once it gets built, makes more sense.

Which Team/Driver will be robbed/mugged this time then I wonder?
Situation isn't good at Sao Paulo those days ... lots of deaths every night.

AFAIK, none, but elsewhere...
Sauber team victim of Montreal robbery
Jun.18 (GMM) The Sauber team was the victim of a robbery in Canada recently, it has emerged.
The Swiss newspaper Blick reports that a team van was broken into in the carpark of a Montreal shopping centre on the Wednesday before the race.
Catering supervisor and truck driver Fritz Steinmann was shopping when the thief stole a laptop, mobile phone, passport, money and credit and ID cards.
“We were also the victims of a robbery in Canada three years ago,” Steinmann noted.

Plus, in all fairness to Globo, it was a tricky situation that the relegation match for Palmeiras did happen simultaneously w/ the Texas race, given the circunstances honestly (and that's me) I don't condemn them, at least they gave us the option to see live in Sportv and then full replay of the race in alternative time in main channel. Nonetheless, also giving credits where is due, it was a very welcomed addition the 30 - 40mins of live pre-race broadcasting with in-track personel, that deserves a congratulation, too. Hope the good trend continues...
Anyways, really liked this lastest Bem Amigos, despite the emotional moments of Felipe, it was nice to see Galvao and Massa openly calling the incompetence of our automobile confederation, applaud them for that!

Nice one Globo. No live broadcasting of Canadian Grand Prix, not even on one of the 3 Sportv's.
Qualifying from Canada is live at 14:00 hours, but on Sunday they will only show the first hour of the race???

They should broadcast the whole race, not only the first hour.
I hope they switch the whole race for one of those Sportvs.

Yesterday on FP2 they said Sportv would broadcast at 20:30 the whole race
I would prefer it too.

OT: Quite surprised this week, an AA flight from NY to MIA had portuguese messages during the flight in adition to Spanish and English.
We're really burning that much money over there?
If by "over there" you mean Miami, the answer is yes. I think Brazilians are chiefly responsible for the recovery in Miami real estate.

Effin SporTV runs 45' cut of the race. They had a 2h slot for the race so I just skipped Globo's first hour and avoided internet the whole afternoon to pick the whole race with recorded live timing. Bastards.
BTW, how was the game at 4pm? Who won it? I still don't know.
Brazil 3 x 0 France. A boring game.
I watched the first hour on Globo and watched the rest on SporTV cut.

Hi there guys, will the transmission be business as usual this year? FPs on sportv and qual & race on globo or are there any changes?
