Was a great day! Thanks to the Renault F1 peeps - We had presentations from team personnel which were really interesting and a tour of their facilities. Got to get really up close to the cars from past and almost present - the cars for Valencia were all packaged up ready for sending out. There were pitstop practices for all the fans (you could use the wheel guns etc as part of a pitstop) and you could do pretend practice starts with the steering wheel plus a tour of the museum whith lots of historic F1 cars and more.... It really was a Jim'll fix it day! My username gives away that I'm a little sad that Piquet was dropped but you gotta look at the bigger picture! Wow - they have some facilities down there, super computers in military style bunkers etc.....If these images don't work it's cause it's the first time I have tried to share...

No wonder the cars are rubbish. The exhaust pipes are plugged up!

You obviously had a great day! I like the Renault building, a bit 'industrial' compared with some, but I like industrial architecture! I wonder how much white paint they used...

Looks a good day out. I have a tour coming up around the Mac factory in September followed by a Brawn tour a week later.

It was - the spaces were limited to the size of the theatre (where the team guy presented - nice sound system and video screen!) I think - 60 seats in there and it was full. I think they ran 3 tours - one at 9am, the next at 12 and the final one at 3pm. Pretty sure the tickets were snapped up pretty much instantly - I just noticed the announcement on the Autosport website at the right time.

Wow, so a pretty select group then, nice. Flav would have been in Sardinia probably but was there anyone significant to the race team there taking questions? Did Piquet's name feature much?

Did Flav pocket all the proceeds?

Well Adam Khan their Demo driver was there answering questions - I did hear someone ask him if Piquets still with them and saw a shake of the head and heard the words "no Grojean"!

And not a thong in sight! Great stuff Pete, thanks. Love the old RE30 and 40 from the 80s - man they were some kind of grenade! Got to see and hear those things at Adelaide - shivers...... Let's hope Valencia is on for the team.

Really glad the pics were liked by you lot - one or two were a little blurry and appear even more blurry on the uploads. Only taken with a 3 or 4 year old Nikon 5MP camera and it can't compensate for my occasional nervous twitch! Good on you lot for the interest! :)
