A great story, where would we all be without these 'enthusiasts'?

Hear hear - thank you Gary for all your efforts to hunt down and preserve this stuff for us. It's also nice to know that TNF has played its part.

A great read - glad to know that there's someone out there trying to locate such footage. Working in the TV business I've heard many stories of BBC employees smuggling out tapes and rifling through skips to grab tapes as they were carelessly discarded - to be honest I've always tried not to think about all the racing footage that must have been lost - it's just to horrible to contemplate.

How on earth do you find it? I can't find my scissors, let alone long-lost film footage...

Come off it ensign, you aren't old enough to suffer from the "Now what did I come upstairs for?" syndrome, but you wait, it will come.

Thanks lads, I'm glad you enjoyed the piece. Thanks MUST go to TNF memeber Loti, who handed over her John Surtees material to me after nearly a quarter of a century in a couple of boxes in her garage! I'm still wading through it, but have managed to use just a small piece in my latest video (http://forums.autosp...howtopic=115436 ).

Stanner have just launched a new high speed stair lift that gets you upstairs before you have forgotten what you went up for.

Yes, Paul, I am looking at releasing the 64 TT footage, the problem I have with it is that there is no sound to it!

The same reel of film includes a Jaguar Owners Club (?) Meeting at Crystal Palace (JYS seems to win everything) plus the F3 meeting at Monte Carlo! And all in living colour!

that young Andrew Kitson once offered some video he had shot of a Silverstone tyre test, Senna and Prost to the fore, but we finally concluded that Bernie 'may' have held the rights so I had to decline them. Shame!
