Iam trying to get some race videos from 2000, 2003, 2005 and 2007 f1 seasons either to download LEGALLY or to buy but i cannot get them anywhere except from Torrents....which i don't want to use. I need high quality videos to fill my library's missing races.
Could a kind fellow please help me where to get them from? I have tried the FIA shop to no avail. Thanks alot

I don't know the law is Sweden, If I recorded it and would share it with you would that be illegal?

Yes, unless it is a gift as the FIA has the copyright. Do you know any vendor in your country who sells these videos? It is so frustrating that the FIA, does not seem to regard that fans might like to watch old races and there seems to be no easy mechanism to get them legally.

So if f.i. your neighbour copied the race and gives it to you it is legal? I don't know where to obtain it from stores.

If it is like one race and given as a gift without any financial reward, then i "think it is legal". I am grateful of your offer and i would like to do everything in a legal manner. I have been trying for several months to find lawful means of obtaining these races to no avail. I have even tried TV6 and Viasat here in sweden to no avail. I would appreciate if any forumer could direct me to where i can obtain legal copies of races in these years.

Unfortunately, due to the unique way FOM works, there is no such thing as full races on DVD for sale legally.

Can we please give Bernie/FOM some credit:
1. The races are dull as dishwater
2. There are no legal DVDs
3. There is no legal internet sources past or present to view F1 footage (excluding the BBC)
4. There is little in the way of mobile phone F1 clips
5. The races are hugely expensive to attend
6. F1 is usually in the news for political reasons rather than on track action
7. Traditional tracks with natural terrain and surroundings are being replaced by huge slabs of generally flat tarmac where some guy paints 'the track' onto.
8. The most technically advanced sport still is not broadcast in Hi Def yet darts and bowling are
9. The fans are shafted
10. Bernie is still loaded.
I apologise for going slightly of topic of the OP question but all the above are part of the bigger picture.

It is very unfortunate. I have met quite a few funs who would like to re-watch some interesting races from the past. Unfortunately the F.O.M, doesn't cater for people like us. It is not always possible to dub all the races and with all the copy-right issues you can't go the peer to peer routes. I have tried to watch some races on you-tube or such media but most of them are taken down due to FOM claims. I find this self defeating. They don't want you to watch through free media but at the same time they provide no legal way to access such races.
Iam sure most fans would love to own a classical video of one race or another in high quality but who do we turn to? The F.O.M needs to think more broadly. Why can't they for example have a download website where people can pay to download? What is the purpose of holding copyright of old races yet they don't want anybody to view them in any manner? I can't just understand this way of thinking.

Can I suggest to you that the page you have just provided the link for will be removed in the not too distant future?
If you wish to provide links please do it via PM - not via the forums...
