Does anybody know which circuit this was?
I don't suppose the circuit mentioned is the Yas Marina Circuit....?
Surely it didn't take the Arabs 32 years to build a circuit, did it?

According to Heinz Prüller, Niki Lauda went to Dubai in 1978 to advise the Arabs on building a circuit.

Not Yas Marina. Street circuits were in use prior to the modern Losail, Dubai Motordrome and Sakhir circuits were built.

Non of them were built in the seventies of eighties.
I was just wondering which was the particular circuit Prüller was talking about.

Great story.
A bit of a weird racing event, though. And it almost finished of Fangio before his time!
No mention of Niki Lauda, however. Maybe they decided nog to take any of his advice after all.

The only information is -
{ Dubai Grand Prix circuit (1981) - 1.630 miles - 2.623 km - clockwise - This circuit is no longer operational }
I have no idea if this is the one mentioned in conjunction with Niki . It seems rather short .

There is now a fixed circuit in Dubai.
Abu Dhabi is a different place and should not be confused with Dubai,As starters it has money!
