Here's a picture of Fangio racing a BRM Type 15 in its most extreme form, probably sometime during 1953, when the car had long since become ineligible for World Championship Grand Prix racing.
But what's been bugging me for some time: in what race? The track looks like Goodwood but there doesn't seem to have been a British F Libre race at Goodwood with a No.3 entry for JMF. Or was there?
Any help is appreciated.
Where and when?

It's Silverstone, July 18 1953, a formula Libre race supporting the GRand Prix. fangio finished second to Farina in the thinwall Ferrari.

Doug Nye has a similar picture on page 188 of his BRM book. JMF looks as if he is really enjoying himself....;)

It wouldn't be surprising.. The Libre cars were 5 secs a lap faster than the Grand Prix.

Right, that's solved then! Thanks, Roger...
So here's an amendment to Tony's rules of motor racing research. Rule number zero: ask TNF first!;)
