That McLaren date was from a 'source'. Make of it what you will.because it seems like everybody on this site has a "source" Just weird that january is a month when most launches take place and we still don't have dates from anybody.

F1Fanatic.co.uk says Mercedes will launch their car on 1 February in Valencia, at the Circuit de la Comunitat Valenciana Ricardo Tormo, prior to the official F1 test there.
I've read somewhere that mcl is also planning to launch their car in valencia. So I assume the date will also be the 1ste of february then?
Let's wait and see.

At motorsport-total there are some people stating, that Mercedes was preparing some kind of party for end of January. They assumed, that it was about presenting car and drivers. Don't know how credible it is.Webber is quite good you say and I agree. Problem is, that if Webber is quite good and Vettel didn't steamroller him, it must mean that Vettel absolutely not can be placed in the first tier.

an early presentation, though
that's the first day of testing so they probably will have some ten minutes photo session at 8 a.m. with MS on every pic and somewhere, far behind, mr brawn, mr haug and mr nico rosberg. In this order.
at the same time, on the garage, everybody will be working in the real car. The one of MS, of course.
OT, does the "one test car per day" rule still alive? Or could both drivers be working at the same time?

Sauber launch 31/1/10
http://www.planet-f1...5835594,00.htmlSauber are the first of the 13 Formula One teams to announce the unveiling of their car ahead of the new season.
Team principal Peter Sauber and director Willy Rampf are to take the wraps off their challenger at the Valencia circuit on January 31 ahead of the first test session that runs from February 1-3.
The team claim both drivers will also be on hand, although as yet Sauber have only confirmed Kamui Kobayashi, with a number of names in the frame for the second seat.

Too much Mac OS X in your life.Chassis names suck anyway. If I had my own team the first year would be Panther, then Tiger, then Jaguar, etc. Once we got past Ocelot, Lynx and the Great Spectacled Turkish Mountain Cat, then I'd consider some boring initials and numbers.

I would be very surprised to see the initials of the former owner included in the name of new Mercedes-Benz GP car.

I understand why they haven't but they could have ridden off the success of the BGP001 years from now, if they kept with the BGP model numbers.

The new car itself will hit the tracks at February 1st.
[ Motorsport Total (Google translation) ]Be denied the new Mercedes car in which Schumacher, Rosberg and the 19 Grands Prix comprehensive formula-1-season 2010, will test only at the start in Valencia the public will be shown. For the presentation of the race teams, it could, however, "no better place than the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart-enter," reads part of the team.
