Hi there,

with all the major cars now unveiled (waiting for Red Bull would take too long....), why not sharing our ideas about which car looks fast and which doesn't. Last year, the Ferrari looked uninspired and the Renault looked like a dog, and it was like that.

I would rank the cars like this in the fast-looking championship:

1. McLaren: I have to admit that for the first time in years I dropped my jaw after having taken a look at that car. Even after the other cars have been unveiled, this one looks the most radical, IMHO.

2. Mercedes: The front looks quite cool, and with that small fin maybe there's the option to add a bigger one later.

3. Sauber: It doesn't look radical, but the sidepods look elegant.

4. Ferrari: Like last year, the car disappointed me. But maybe I haven't seen all the radical details...

5. Toro Rosso: For their first year it certainly is a good choice to build an evolution of last year's Red Bull. IMHO they might be ahead of Renault.

6. Williams: I would have loved to see them having a great car, but the first images didn't astonish me. Of course, there's a 2010-style nose and fin, but not as developed as with the top teams. Still, in the best of all worlds a clean design should be fast, but I'm afraid these days are long gone.

7. Renault: Paint scheme has certainly improved, but the nose, which is so important nowadays, still looks kind of clumsy. I don't see this being a fast car....

What's your take?
a.

#1 - McLaren: the MP4-25 looks like McLaren have been anticipating how designs will evolve over the next few years and tried to place themselves ahead of that curve.

#2 - Williams: the FW32 looks like the most natural evolution of the 2009 cars; it's certainly very organic.

=2 - Sauber: the C29 has all of the McLaren's aggression, but none of its elegance. It looks industrial, but that's not a bad thing.

#4 - Mercedes: the W01's airbox and engine cowling look good, but the nose looks too bulky and the V-shaped channel too deep.

#5 - Ferrari: Red Bull RB5 + Brawn BGP-001 + McLaren MP4-24 = Ferrari F10. Did Ferrari even put a single original thought into this?

#6 - Scuderia Toro Rosso: the STR5 looks like last year's car. With a bit of red on its nose.

#? - Renault: I can't comment on the R30 because there seems to be some contention over whether or not this is the final version of the car.

Photos can be found in the threads on individual cars, while there are Twitter feeds running and pages running something similar to Live Timing. However, there is no live streaming.

The McLaren looks mighty quicky.

It is quite unusual and aggressive looking.

Like the Audi R15!
