You could try CrossOver, it is a more user friendly version of Wine. It is a Commercial product, but there is a 30 day trial so you can see if it works at all before messing with the open source version. Or simply buy it.

I am afraid that I need a bit of help understanding all of this stuff as I am not too savy about it. Can you or anyone help me understand WINE better? How exactly does it work?
Many many thanks!.

CrossOver is in many ways the easiest of the WINE-based virtualisers for Mac OS X. In others you have to install Windows XP first, but in this one you don't; you just let it designate what they call a 'bottle', a dedicated XP mini-environment, into which you then let your DX 9.0c and GPL installers rip. It should run GPL ok (it certainly does rFactor, which is much 'heavier').
In any case, I ran GPL (via Cider) on a Mac as well, so it does work, the 9400M is plenty ok for everything but the heaviest of tracks and full fields of AI.

Thank you for your reply. Can you clarify a bit for me? With Crossover, do I need to install Windows on my Mac?
What does " then let your DX 9.0c and GPL installers rip" mean?
Sorry to be so dense but this is **all** new to me. I am grateful for your help.
