Does anyone have any footage, or is able to help me locate any footage of my late father Ian McDougall, who raced Mini's in the 1960's. Sometimes Anglia's ? I think he also raced for Broadspeed. I think he raced at Mallory Park, and most other circuits in the UK. Any help appreciated. Beverley.

Hallo Beverley,

Yes, your dad raced a Broadspeed Mini! Here he is leading at Oulton Park, date 24. April 1965.

Another pic, shot on Boxing Day (26.12.1965) at Mallory Park. Here your father is seen in between Ted Williams' Anglia and Robin Smith's Cortina.

I tracked down two races in which your father raced a Ford Anglia. That was at Brands Hatch (02.07.1967) and Croft (10.08.1968). He also entered an Anglia for a certain Gerry Edmonds at Mallory Park (23.06.1968) and Brands Hatch (19.10.1969).

Dear Beverley, I knew your Dad well. I was driving for Broadspeed at the same time.
He was a good guy and we had a lot of laughs together. He even asked me to
drive his car at Oulton Park once when he was not sure if it was running properly.

I am attaching a photograph that was taken at a Broadspeed party at the Opposite
Lock Club in Birmingham during the Winter of 65/66

the people are as follows:

front left to right: Barry Pearson, John Handley, Me

You will have done more I suppose, my site only contains touring car races - and I've just reached 1980 AND skipped IMSA after 1975. O=Those 328 will include some multiple entries if races are run in heats or if you were entered on more than one car, but still...
