Just wondering if there was any consideration to perhaps developing a more up to date mobile version of the Autosport website?

I currently access the site on my Android-based mobile at palm.autosport.com as the wap one is a bit too 'oldskool' for my liking. Was thinking that something that rendered better page layouts, including pictures and the like (a lá BBC, Guardian etc) would be an asset to the brand?

I agree. Even the little Saward/Allen etc blog sites offer something nicely formatted for (In my case) iPhone. I tend to access the grown-up site at the moment but would much prefer something that loads quickly and still gives me everything.

They use a specific mobile-theme on their Wordpress installations. Isn't too difficult to implement in truth. But yeah, point still stands: mobiles are whizzy-flash-pop devices these days and the Autosport mobile site isn't doing modern technology much justice.

I came here to say the same thing, browsing on your mobile is a day to day thing for many people, having a full modern mobile site is a must for top level websites. Especially one that doesn't require a subscription, the bulk of users will get turned off trying to access autosport if they have to use a slowly loading and data heavy page.

I've been using palm.autosport.com for years and love it because of how quick it is to load when you have poor signal. I'd love a modernised version but I hope the devs do it in such a way to keep the simplicity that makes it so zippy on any device/connection. I'd be happy if we could get finger sized links (with larger spacing to prevent hitting the wrong one) and a few more photos (which link to a full size image) and if there's time a better mobile gallery. A whizzy animated one with unread badges and the like would be great but a quick update of the templates and CSS is all that's needed to make it a lot easier to use on modern Smartphones.

Any word on this? I just got a Torch so i tried browsing on the phone and Autosport is by far the worst to view as there is no "mobile" option. i can pay for the super fancy Mobile app but that's not what I am after, I just want the website as is but formatted for mobile devices, I see a lot of large web sites with this option.
