try to build Bruce McLaren's car in Monaco 1969 (practice).

here are some more photos from the nearly finshed M7C.
Comparison between the M7A (South Africa 1969) and M7C (Practice Monaco 1969).
I hope to finish this "beauty" very soon

Probably, Philippe, partly because of the quality of the kits and partly because of the slightly off-beat choice of subjects. I remember being unaware of the BT15 and MS5 until it was too late... I am actually amazed that anyone would still be interested in those old kits that I helped produce over 40 years ago now...
I don't suppose anyone is making models these days of GP2 cars, or whatever the junior formula equivalent would be nowadays.

Now if i could get someone to put together a Lotus 49, McLaren M7 and Brabham F1, as well as the 512S, would that be cool...

This thread is tempting me to build them after all this time.

PS - Phillipe, I'm sure there would be quite a few model-makers over on SlotForum who would be able to spray your cars.

Hi
I enjoy this very much
I like the slimline version very much..
I have a Heller Humbrol version of the kit.
I think it is a pity that Heller never realized that if they only made some very small correction on the 2 parts 40 and 41 parts of the monocoque. includ them in the kit..
perhaps with a front wing as an extra...
with additional decals, they could have made another very intresting version of this model.

If I had stayed there instead of packing my bags for greener Californian pastures (well, in winter anyway!), you can bet your bottom dollar that i would have made that happen.
I was the only "car guy" at Heller, at the time, and was oh, still so young... sorry!

Hello,
the BT15 is nearly finished, here are some photos.

Hello T54 you have done a good job, but I am missing the fueltank and the watertubes.
Why does Heller not sell/produce the Brabham BT26A? one of my absolute favorites.

The original design did not have the full frame, as the lower body panel had the tubing as integral part. Changes were made along the way, and indeed a few parts were missed in the process, such as... the fuel tank!
Please accept this as an error of a confused but enthusiastic young man...
PS: May I send you the body from my kit to paint for me please?

I would have to second that! I am now in my mid 60`s and for 45 odd years have enjoyed the "art" of model construction and detailing of 1/25 and 1/24 scale models. You really do make a superb job of these kits, John. Well done! :clap:i
As someone stated previously, the detailed assembled kit is worth less than a "virgin" kit, but not to the builder.
The finished model is only a visual asset to the one who puts in all the work---only another "head damaged" afflicted
modeller can appreciate the finished item.
I have enjoyed this link as it means there are guys out there (and girls) who use up untold hours on these fabulous "kits"
There is a few Hella models in my collection, Many thanks

On a random note, why does everyone think instructions are easy? Is it just denial? I'm working on them for a kids craft kit and they are such a bear. Takes longer than any other element of the product development.

Just bought a Heller Martini 917 and a Humbrol Heller 917 (1970 Le mans winning car) but neither kit has assembly instructions.
My online search has not come up with anything yet. Any suggestions?

Have you had any luck yet? I built the Martini 917 (as reboxed by Testor's in the U.S.) many moons ago and by some miracle still have the instructions. Send me a PM with your email address and I'll be glad to scan them for you.
