THIS IS MY BUTT:

:o

It kinda loses it when Mark doesn't actually have a butt.

If Pepe Jeans wants to do that theme, go sponsor the USA Men's Figure Skating Team. Butt central.

Posting here as it involves a McLaren driver featuring in an ad for sponsor ie Santader.

Completing McLaren's embarrassment this season... Is this the worst F1 related ad ever?

Jenson Santader Ad

OMG. What are these idiots doing to McLaren.

I enjoyed the Fisi and Kimi ad greatly. Especially the background music. Sounds like the sort of stuff they'd play on the BBC back in the day when broadcasts would fail from time to time and an announcer would have to say something like "We're doing our best to get back to Holiday '86, but in the meantime, here's some music."

Still, I feel this long and glorious history of F1 adverts is missing a couple of the older pages, so here you go:

Heikki, Lewis and Barry from Eastenders star in the school play another Vodafone ad as cab drivers
&
Fernando Alonso goes to therapy because of his Fiat 500

"Want me to do the English version while I'm here? I can speak English..."
"Nah, no time."
"Oh. Well, as long as you get someone who sounds like me. After all, the only people who'll give a rat's ass about me being in this ad in the first place will presumably also know what I sound like."

I had my first exposure to watching the pre-race build up on Sky for Hungary, and saw this god awful CGI advert thing revolving around McLaren. It sort of explained to me why the cars have been running 'Tooned' on the rear wing.

I'm still not sure what I am meant to buy as a result of it, but another 10 seconds and I would have gladly gouged my eyes and ears out with a blunt pencil.

Old Dutch McLaren ad for an insurance company:
http://www.youtube.c...k...74B&index=5
It becomes more actual with current pitstops. :p

They have a legendary status with their commercials here:

Few highlights:

http://www.youtube.c...E...4B&index=32
http://www.youtube.c...g...4B&index=49
http://www.youtube.c...M...4B&index=52
But almost all of them are good.

Some 'unofficials' as well on their channel

The Tooned cartoons aren't an advert. McLaren make them themselves, the cartoons "sell" McLaren and their sponsors. Series 1 was better

The Mobil 1 "episode" is pretty much an advert.

Now there's a second Mobil 1 one. I think it's worse. I'm not actually sure Tony Stewart is doing his own voice...

Jenson and Mika for Johnnie Walker. Martin Whitmarsh's in it as well.

If you lot can't see the colossal tongue in the cheek with that ad, then i guess it explains why everyone in here get's so upset over every little thing that happens on the racetrack.

Sense of humour failure ahoy.

Johnnie Walker's ads are as tasteless as their products.

Pardon if this isn't F1 specific, but there's a new Audi ad here in the States that features an R8 prototype. Funny thing is they dubbed in the engine sound from some petrol powered car. I can just see the Producer moaning over the actual sound, "What do you mean that's what it sounds like? I can barely hear it! I don't careā€¦edit in a proper engine note".  :drunk:

The latest in the series of odd Santander Jenson Button adverts:

Looks like the British public have got tired of JB scaring them by breaking into their homes and are turning the tables. I think the bloke who can't shut up about his new mortgage is supposed to be in JB's house anyway I can't tell and I just ran right out of curiosity about it either way.

Those Santander ads in UK are simply weird.

They just have no "sense" at all. Most "failed" commercials still tend to have some traces of effort of trying hard to be relevant/cool/artistic/humorous, but these have none.

Is it that British ad agency is not happy about Spanish capital invading UK so that they are doing their utmost to destroy and kick them out or what? Seriously that's the only explanation I can come up with. Those commercials are that bad and weird.

I do find the first series of ads with Jenson et al lurking behind doors distinctly creepy.  The latest ones are a bit less so, with Jessica Ennis-Hill grooming a dog with a Santander customer enthusing to her about the great deal he's got.  Still weird though.  It looks like they secured these famous faces but then didn't know what to do with them.
