I interviewed Sir Jack Brabham two years ago, and one topic of conversation was the logistics of the transport of Repco engines from Australia (in the pre-email, telex, snail mail days). Sir Jack told me that they had about 12 engines in total, and one engine went missing, never to be found again.

I wonder where that Repco engine went and what it was used for, perhaps on a tractor in Romania, or for an irrigation pump in Malawi? Does anyone know?

That would have been depatched by air? I know the Aussie waterfront industry was/is pretty dodgy so would imagine it found peace somewhere in the "lucky country". Good luck with your investigations, I will mention it at the breakfast at Hampton Downs next month.

Was that prior to 1966 season or 1967?
