Can't see this mentioned yet.

Saw this advertised in Autosport this week.

Several pics of a 917 in the advert and seems to say they will have one on show there too, plus they have a tribute to Steve McQueen too. Think I will pop down, not sure if anyone else has any more info on what cars are on show. Only a few listed on the site so far

I'll be popping along.

It was either that, or trundle on down to Brands Hatch for the DTM. But the prospect of watching them whizzing round the Indy Circuit.

Easy choice!

Major race show at Chelsea Hospital,London next Sunday.
Lots of major cars and drivers led by Sir Stirling,Derek Bell.917's,Jag C and D,many great old soldiers.

Leave a proficient computer man to post the link.

10am to 4 pm Sunday ,go along and its all for a super charity.

So, what did we all think of it?

I thought that as an inaugural event, it didn't do anything fundamentally wrong, and enjoyed gawping at the line-up of cars on offer. At £12 it was priced accordingly as I felt I saw it all within three hours - I didn't have the desire to make a day of it really. Had the admission price been higher I would have been slightly miffed.

But other than that, an enjoyable wander and I watch with interest to see what the organisers have planned for 2011.

Seems I stood next to Gregor Marshal.

It was superb day out although a zoo getting cars out of London as Boris had organised a circle ride and closed roads.Those 30's racing cars do not like it!

I was very impressed. A good and wide ranging collection of cars, healthy but not overbearing crowds and beautiful surroundings. We had no problems getting in and out despite parking near to the home of a well known former F3 driver.

despite started the thread I ended up having to give this a miss. Do what cars did they have on show then ? The site said they had a 917 and a 512 what else was there and anyone got any good pics ?

This was a totally fantastic event.............well worth the agg provided by Boris' 85,000 Skyride cyclists and the Tube trains up the spout.
Probably the best show I have been to............and personalities thick on the ground ( all unpublicised). Great speakers interviewed well by Simon Taylor.
The crowds will be out in force next yesr ( Sept 4th BTW) and spoil it.

This for starters...........3 real GT40s and 3 real 917s..................

The photos I have seen show 3 seperate 917s (one looks like a replica). a 512, Porsche 936/81, 908, 956 (or 962) 911RSR, Alfa 33, Spice, Bentley LMP1 (is there a show that this car is not at?), prodrive Lola Astons and DB7's, D type, escose lorry and cars, santa pod dragster, McLaren GTR F1, Ferrari Daytona, 2 litre lola (often seen on the Mallory thread), Audi R8 plus many more road cars.

Two comp Daytonas...........the Pozzi car and the Mason-Styron one.
I have pics of the 917s..........the David Piper car and two Gulf cars..........one by the stage was real the other I am sure we will find out.

When was that John - was that you I was talking to with Ian Cook?

I thought it was a very well organised event, more people and cars then I thought there would be (and the organisers too apparently!!) and I am looking forward to next year, not sure if I'll drive again but probably cheaper than the train, plus FOC parking and no Congestion Charge.
I think some of the stall-holders weren't too happy about charges etc, but then I'm sure you get at all shows.
I took a few pictures which I'll post later.

It was pouring with rain for much of the day, and huddling under trees trying to keep dry was a priority. I personally didn't see anything I wanted to photograph after the rain stopped

I went along; weather was atrocious which was a shame. Hoped to meet Stirling and get an autograph but he didn't attend as the weather was so bad. Some interesting machinery, lots of modern-day Supercars. Highlights for me were 1959 Testa Rossa, very rusty Citroen HY van with blackboards where you could add your mark vote to 'restore' or 'don't restore (don't restore winning when I was there), the Lance Macklin '55 LeMans Austin Healey, Peugeot 905, Nocker lightweight E-type, and a guy with an Oz '73 Ford Falcon Hardtop (very 70s, mushroom beige and chocolate brown, apparently one of only 4 Hardtops in the UK). Interesting interviews, battling the rain, by Simon Taylor with David Piper, Paddy Hopkirk, Mike Salmon, Barrie Williams and others.

Yes, blue Iso Rivolta Fidia was a rarity.

Arrived there at midday, started raining at 12.45, left at 1.30 and retreated to the pub. Such a shame about the weather, would happily have stayed another hour. Took some photos of some bits and pieces.
Most farcical bit of the day - all the Supercar Cavalcade attendees were parked in the main driveway down the middle of the grounds, not much room to walk down there, tabbarded officials keeping people off the grass. Then when the area became (unsurprisingly) full of people gawping all the owners got upset about them being near their precious cars and everyone was moved away to a distance great enough to be unable to tell one car from another. Might as well have parked them on the other side of the river.
A couple of nice rarities there - how about an Iso Rivolta and a Maserati Kyalami? Then there was the Pink Panther car...

Didn't go this year as there didn't appear to be much different to last year to warrant a trip to London.

I've seen enough E-types at Race Retro, Silverstone Classic etc. this year to last me a life time!

Yes, the weather held this year and they were letting people in for £10 after 2.30. Original price was £25; which would have been very expensive for what was actually on offer this year...

I was afraid you might ask... David Piper was there with his T70 and 275LM, there was a lovely Testa Rossa and a Birdcage. At the other end of the scale a Marussia and a Benetton Ford.
