With many new fans coming to Rallying either through Kimi Raikkonen or whatver source, I just wanted to share some videos made by DGR64 on Youtube.
Possibly the finest collection of rally videos that truly show what Rallying used to be like, both the good, the bad and the ugly...and simply stunning!!! The videos are predominantly very well edited clips from over the years to music, with some car sounds every now and then...but the atmosphere created by the images and sounds seem to just suit perfectly.
It is because I have seen much of that contained in the videos either first hand or when it first aired on TV, that I am so passionate about this sport ... watch these fantastic video's with a coffee and savour the truly EPIC sport that is Rallying...what it has been...what it was....and what it COULD be again.... with the right guidance...
Many thanks to DGR64 for such superb productions!
Enjoy!

Bon Jour FLATOVERCREST, that was awsome , I was privileged to be in the same rallies as a lot of the legends on those videos, I competed in about 35 International rallies representing the British Army International rally team between 1970 and 1983, the best years of rallying.
All the lads were approachable, with very few if any Prima donnas, and I have to admit to having been rat arsed with quite a few of the stars of the day, Roger, Pennti and Timo amongst others.
My everlasting memory is of Michelle Mouton and Fabricia Pons in the Quattro Sport on the Audi video, she was just incredible.
I was 34 th O/A on the notoriously rough 1971 RAC in a completely bog standard Austin 1800, and also drove the incredibly quick Turbo Charged Land Rover that Alan Allard prepared for me, it would pull 90mph in over drive 3rd, and over 110 in top.
Once again, thanks for the links,
Les Dalton,
France.

Great film clips and so many wonderful memories. Other than the ones listed there are quite a few more guys in there who sadly are no longer with us.

Top selection of vids.
At 4 mins on the very first link there is a Landcrab being drifted through a fairly narrow donkey track any idea who the helmet less lunatic is filming out of the O/S back door window, who is driving and where ?
I am sure stuff like that wouldn't be allowed in this day and age

I would say that it is the World Cup Rally, looking at the orange bit on the hood.
