Easiest way to avoid this is to not check your split times. If you realise you are up, you put pressure on yourself. Instead, concentrate on each corner as comes to maximize each one individually then check your time at the end of the lap. It's about the laptime.

I know but it's impossible to avoid that in the game. Even if you had all the split times off there is still one gauge in your steering wheel. I just can't force myself to not look. At that time 56.5 would have been top 5 time so I just froze. It came so suddenly. I had a split time of 56.6 as "Massa's" time and I was below it on both sectors and knew I was able to be a tenth faster than him in the last split.

I always drive split times off if I quali for an event in iRacing for the reason you mentioned.

still trying to beat massa's time but im only faster in the 1st sector and i lose a lot in other two. i really want to go to the 57s, but i just did 58.002, and couldnt take those lousy two miliseconds off my time. really frustrating

EDIT: im finally in the 57, but still 1tenth away from massa. im still happy though

Just got this. After 10 laps I'm at 58.7 seconds. I know where I'm losing the time, it's just getting it (it's mainly my braking points).

Anyone get the Mugello circuit yet? I think it's a better track than Fiorano, but unfortunately it's almost $20 just for a track and an aero update on the car, and I now know that I have no hope of making it into the top 5...

Mugello feels much, much better than Fiorano. They also updated the game to allow is to pick our FOV which is great - works well in eyefinity now.

FOV is heaps better. Althought crappy you can only adjust in increments of 10 degrees.

Mugello is fast and fun! Only done 10 laps but got into the 1m24s. :)

I've managed a 1:20.8 with a few tenths better on optimals. I can much Alonso in S1 but am getting on the power too late out of the chicanes at the start of S2 and S3.

Anyone knows any website where this simulator and how to drive it is being discussed, with as much detail as possible? I'm missing 3-4 tenths to get into top 10 and would be nice if I manage to get any present.

Having watched the German GP, i jumped on FVA and had a blast - it really is an incredible f1 sim, the car makes all the movements and exhibits the same behaviour as the cars did on track, it's a travesty that this sim didn't become more that it was
