Can't believe there hasn't been a thread about it yet.

Congratulations Mateschitz, Newey, Horner, Vettel, Webber etc for picking up the ultimate team prize.

You've deserved it because no one could ever figure out what made you so quick. Hopefully someone will next year.

The history is Stewart and Jaguar. It happened as Red Bull.

Basically the first I said when the race was over: Now Stewart Grand Prix acutally won a F1 World Championship.

Definitely. They deserved this one. Such an accomplishment against the likes of Mclaren and Ferrari, who haven't exactly built bad cars or anything.

Oh yeah no doubt they are the only worthy winners of the WCC this year. The car is a beast and they kept up with the updates that the others threw at them, even often gaining time in the process.

The Red Bull has been the class of the field this year and wins a well deserved wcc. I am not sure how a drink company can beat the likes of Ferrari and Mercedes but there it is. Well done.

They did very well considering just how hard McLaren came at them and serious straight line advantage McLaren had which was making actual racing very difficult. To pull away from an established team like that mid season is no mean feat.

Massive congratulations specially to the engineering side of the team, who produced one hell of a car. The management side seems a bit unlikeable and my feeling is that they have not done everything to take advantage of the machinery, but I guess they're a part of the team as well and so should be partying right now.

Well, it's nothing to do with the company putting up the funds really is it? Whoever questioned a cigarette company winning a constrcuctors title by putting up the money for McLaren, Ferrari, Williams, Lotus and Renault all those years? All that really matters is the desire of the team that has been put together and that is definitely present in Red Bull and the teams it was previous to that.

Well done Red Bull, you've pissed off a lot of race fans this year with your driver politics but you definitely built the best car and deserve it. Not forgetting Renault who even Red Bull were criticising at the start of the season for their poor engine.

Well done lads, well deserved well played by the engineers and designers, certainly one of the best cars to have raced, just not fully exploited. I have the same feeling of satisfaction as I did when Renualt finally ended the Ferrari domination (even though being partial to Ferrari).

Winning the Constructors' Championship has been a mission. Red Bull entered Formula One and I was a small boy. I remember my first trip. I had just got my drivers' licence and I drove to England. It was in 2005. To Milton Keynes and if I compare the place back then to now it is massive progress. I was a little boy. Someone showed me around and I was fascinated. Sparks in my eyes. Looking up to Formula One and now to be part of the team and part of the driver line-up to give them their first championship is incredible. I don't really know how to put it in words. Big thanks to the guys in Milton Keynes, here at the track and also in Austria. It is not always just investing money, it is time, patience and a lot of passion. I think we have got all the ingredients to build that kind of car and even with a season like we had, ups and downs, to still to be able to win the Constructors'.

Making 14 poles - so far - with the third best engine just shows how good is the car.

last year, Redbull was the only car with a pull rod rear suspension...

far as i know, that remains the same for this year (all the other cars have a push rod rear suspension)?? anyone got details on this?

with red bull now winning the WCC, im wondering how many other teams are going to go the route Newey did with the pull rod rear suspension

If you've ever worked in F1, you'd be surprised that it doesn't happen more often.

Red Bull racing is proof that a few clever people who know what they are doing can beat one thousand monkeys with lots of money working a wind tunnel.

No doubt the testing ban, changes in regulations, summer break and enforced reduction of available resources has helped a small(er) budget operation beat the big teams.

True it does seam they have tried just about everything possible to not win anything this year.
But with a car clearly so much faster than the rest even trying hard not to win was not enough.
But we still see that we dont want to win attitude in the race for the WDC.

Yes, fantastically well designed car and I think now more reliable with the chassis than previous versions that were "fragile". They don't seem to have cocked up too much on the strategy front either, though I do have poor memory...

Definitely joined the big boys

That Tyrell thing is such a huge misconception. BAT et al only bought the Tyrell entry. The BAR team was completely new, in a completely different location with completely different people.

Indeed, congratulations to Stewart-Ford Jaguar Red Bull-Renault Racing. And fitting, too, that Stewart finally won the WCC a year after Tyrrell's revival. </tongueincheeck>

This WCC isn't down to one man, of course, and the 'Newey-genius' remarks sometimes bother me, since, in a way, he's overrated. Yes, his cars have won 6 WDCs and 6 WCC, but they were all in the 1992-1999 period. Compare that to Rory Byrne's record, and the South-African is a close match.

Newey has won many World titles with his cars...but think about how many fast cars he's produced.

Maybe fragile at times...but his record is superb when it comes to producing a very fast car. Especially when in the hands of the right drivers.

Take him away...and I struggle to see Red Bull anywhere near it in terms of pure pace. This car has been superb all year in that area.
