So they had the gravel traps, it was only a circuit that had to be built.it was apparently going to built over one of the islands major golf courses

In August 2009, the United Kingdom suspended the Turks and Caicos' self-government after allegations of ministerial corruption.i don't think the Turks and Caicos goverment is the most stable in the world, i don't know if that has played a part

Well, I reckon we'd give them independence in a New York minute. These Overseas Territories are nothing but a nuisance for HMG - either they are dependent financially, and if they aren't, they are dodgy tax havens and/or drug trafficking centres. And many of the rest of the world keep using them to bash the UK about being 'colonialists'.yeah thats what i heard BRG , plus the fact they keep banging on about independence as well.
Presumably this race idea was scrapped by Whitehall when they took over.

thats probaly the reason, i mean they want to be independant but can't look after themselves without our help
