Bridgestone farewell gift. Will the tyre wear decide the championship?

I´ve got the feeling that tyre wear will be crucial tomorrow. Looking at how fast the Ferrari and the McLaren chewed their tyres on friday compared to Red Bull, I think it´s pretty possible they will be forced to pit very early, and maybe they will be stuck on traffic, ruining their races (The hards look strong enough, so very different to Canada). If the Bulls can make their tyres to last enough until they have opened a gap, that could be a major advantage, and they will dissapear with an easy 1-2.
Anyone thinking the same?

Only Ferrari appeared to have any real trouble on Friday and that appeared to be more down to graining than wear.

I assume that they will not "wash" the track overnight and that there will be a decent amount of F1 rubber still down by the time the race start. If that is the case then I don't think it will be a deciding factor even though the time loss for a pit stop is very long here.

Valid points. But i saw Marc Gene today genuinely concerned about the tyres. He even hinted that Ferrari might use the Prime in Q3

Lewis times dropped pretty badly too IIRC, only that he went to boxes earlier than Alonso. Webber was on track about the same laps as Alonso and his times were much better.

The Red Bulls will start the race with tyres 2 laps older than those on the Macs or Ferraris, which could well negate any tyre wear advantage.

I would not agree about McLaren on Friday, traffic was more of a factor than degradation.

With that said, they definitely have struggled on the supersoft, in Brazil and even more in Singapore so it is entirely possible that they do have issues tomorrow. The car would appear to have a much better balance here though.
