On behalf of several modelers I would like to ask if anyone would have some detail pictures of the Ferrari 312T4. Of particular interest is the engine, rear suspension area and how the anti roll bar is adjusted. Brake line plumbing for the front brakes would also be helpful.

The answer is (probably) yes.
That car was the last one I ever made (I think it might have been the Tamiya 1/12th) and although that was many years ago I should still have my set of pictures used for details. Let me find it...

as I am currently working on a 3d computer model of this car ( http://members.atlas...dog/312t42.jpg is an early and innacurate WIP pic), I have sourced a fair few scanned pictures, including the tamiya plans kindly donated by a board member and photos of the internal details of other models. PM me if you would like a copy of what I have found.. I should mention that the tamiya plans appear to be inaccurate in at least the odd area (the nose/front wing mount is definitely wrong as compared to photographs of the real car) so how accurate they are in the areas you are looking for is something I am unclear on.

Hello,

one of my next models will be the Ferrari 312T4, Gilles Villeneuve, Hockenheim 1979 in scale 1/20, now I have some questions.

Was the air funnel in Hockenheim orange or black?

I think Villeneuve's seat was the complete season 1979 total black and Scheckter's seat was black and white, can anybody confirm this?

John, I checked several books and magazines. Of course GPI remains best, in the German GP issue I see a slight piece of the side pontoon inset, and its orange. Note that Forghieri had brought 3 sets of pontoons to Hockenheim to test both drivers, and some pics also show different lay out at the back side of the cowlings (notably the rear brake air inlets.

The black inside of the cowling at Monza may have been part at Ferrari's yearly approach to come with a modified car for their home race. No definitive answer (yet). Good luck with that Hiro kit!
