OK, there are about 400 different competitions going on in this forum, and I don't participate in any of them because I don't want to take the time to read through all of the rules. So, I have started my own simple competition for anyone who, like me, is a lazy b@stard.

Here's how it works. All you have to do is post the number of laps you think Alex Yoong will complete before being lapped by the race leader. For example, if you think Yoong will finish 16 laps in Melbourne before spinning out when MS, DC, or JPM appear in his mirrors, post "16."

I will collect all of your guesses throughout the season (all two of you who actually participate) and calculate how many laps off you were in total. The person with the lowest score after Suzuka will have the dubious honor of being the most capable person in the Atlas Forum of recognizing a loser .

To start things off, my guess for Australia is: 18.

Your submissions for Australia must be in before February 28th :stoned:.

Well, Malaysian fans will not like this but, 1:20´s is the lap at australia that means 80+ seconds. Yoong will be more than 7 seconds behind the fastest car in terms of lap times. That will give him about 11 laps on the lead lap but i´ll beleive it will take a little longer, I say by lap 14 he´s lapped and he´ll finish four laps down.

He won't stay on the track long enough to get lapped. So... should I put down zero or infinity?

Well, let's say you think he'll crash out on lap 4. Obviously he will immediately be lapped, so your pick should therefore be "4." If you're saying you don't think he'll finish a lap (heh), put "0."

19 - if he lasts that long (or jumps the 107% at all), that is :)

Though not a Yoong fan, I will give him a chance to prove himself with a hopefully better Minardi - so I say 28

OK. He won't finish the first lap so his parked car will get lapped on the second lap. So, my official answer is 2.

Lap 7. Just a hunch, but I put my money on him spinning out on one of the first few laps and losing a good 20-30 seconds because of it - thus, accelerating the time with which it takes him to get lapped.

hmmmmm judging by the way you allocate points... and the fact that the winner of the comp is the one with least number of points........ I think I'll only post a prediction for the last race.

Oh bugger it... too resisting...... lap 15.

Oh and just to clarify... you said it is the lap that Toong is on? Not the lap that the leader is on?

(someone mentioned they didn't think yoong would finish lap 1 and hence put down lap 2 as thier guess...... but by the rules as I read them it would be scored as lap 1)

Cheers

I guess 0, Yoong will be outside 107% in qualifying

So he makes 107% with a 3 year old engine constantly but he won't with a brand new Asiatech?

You have the brains of a cabbage.

He will be outside the 107% (due the F2002 being lightyears ahead of everything else) but will get a start because of an unsighted/indeterminate interference problem in qualifying. I don't think he will get around Albert Park in less than 1:30, but you don't think that they will start the season off with less than 22 cars do you?

After the start he will tail the field by so far he will be clear of the first lap mayhem and will tour at 6 secs a lap slower than Schumi.
He will be lapped on the 14th lap.

Excellent competition.

You have to guess how many laps Yoong will actually complete before being lapped. In other words, how many times will he cross the finish line after the start. If he wipes it on the first lap, he will be considered to have completed "0" laps. The person in your example should have put "1" instead of "2."

Don't think too hard about this! The competition is supposed to be for lazy b@stards, remember? :stoned:

You guys really should give the poor guy a chance.

But just in case, I predict that a multi-car pile-up on the opening lap will mean that:
a) Three of the leading cars will be out before Yoong.
b) Yoong will get 4 free laps behind the pace car.
c) He will be eclipsed by Fisichella (the leader by then) on lap 16.

Mark has spoken. All hail.
