I worked out before that Mika Hakkinen and Michael Schumacher were the first two drivers home in Grand Prix's on twelve occasions. This raised an interesting question - does anyone have a list of driver combinations who took the most 1-2 finishes? I think it'd be quite interesting to see.

Only by team-mates ....
Senna/Prost 14
Mansell/Patrese 8
Stewart/Cevert 6
Mansell/Piquet 6
Hill/Villeneuve 6
That list is from GP Data Book 3, which is only up to the end of 1996. Schumacher/Irvine? Schumacher/Barrichello? Hakkinen/Coulthard?

I calculated Senna/Prost just before, I think 20 in total.
If no one can produce a list, i might try and give it a go this weekend, last one before I am back to school...

I hope my workings agree with Forix, but Schumacher & Barrichello have now equalled Senna and Prost's 14 1-2s with their staged(?) finish at Indy last weekend. That's what I told Sky so I hope I'm right. Between the Ferrari drivers they have finished first & second 8 times this season, including the last 4 (yawn), so added to their previous total of 6 that makes 14.
Another record to be broken by the Ferrari boys in Japan I wonder.
We hope to include a full table in the 4th GP Data Book which should be out again some time next year - fingers crossed.
