I was just reading the famous "Lil and Peter" story in Alfred Neubauer memories involving Paul Pietsch, Achille Varzi and Ilse Pietsch. I was just fascinating by this story and now I want to know more about this Ilse Pietsch. I found a great portrait of her at www.ddavid.com/formula1/ (thanks Dennis !), but does anybody here can tell me more about her ? Is there any other pictures available on the Net ?
Last but not least, I hardly recommend you this great Neubauer's autobiography (Speed was my life).

Unless of course you mean that you 'heartily' recommend the book

there are some intresting photo's of the lady on page 52-53 of the Book Una Curva Cieca by Giorgio Terruzzi.
The book is in Italian:
It is a story of the life of Achille Varzi.
I still hope someone makes an english translation of it someday

It rings a bell...Anyway, I cannot make a translation, but surely can scan and post the images on those two pages...thanks to Paul´s -reiterated- clue...

I still have an upload problem
But now we have to find someone to translate the book about this very famous and intresting racingdriver.. Achille Varzi!!
We already have so many books on the great Tazio, so it is high time for a english language book about one of his greatest rivals...
Perhaps Mr Doug Nye can help us a little...

But does anybody has information about her after Varzi left her ? When and where did she die ?

I am a new user, so I apologize for any mistakes.
Saw your discussions about Ilse Pietsch, Una Curva Cieca will be translated in English soon, visit http://www.meadowgee...CurvaCieca.html for more information. A very good source for info on Ilse Pietsch are the books of Chris Nixon, Racing the Silver Arrows and Rosemeyer. These books are obligatory anyway for all prewar racing fans.

What is wrong with this thread ?
A
Achille Varzi & Paul Pietsch surely had better taste than Hans Stuck !
